    Stop terrain layer from painting default material

    I'm having trouble figuring out how to stop a terrain layer from painting the default texture. I've set a mesh in the foliage part and those are painting fine, but the default material is covering the terrain material that was there before. I can't add any more materials to the terrain piece either because I've already hit the texture sample limit(12) on terrains. I just need the grass to be painted, no materials.

    I've also tried moving the foliage layers above the materials I've already painted but that does not solve the problem.

      Thanks for the reply, however that does not solve my problem. That video is of the very basics of using terrain which is not what I need.
