Head in the clouds - making a cloud particle system

    I tried doing it with planes but the result wasn't satisfactory. I want something the player can fly through with a vehicle and still get that 'wow' factor experience.

    Doing it with sprite-like planes (that would always face the player) would work but I dunno how to do that.

      Did you read the tutorial? The player can go through the cloud without losing the illusion or wow factor by utilizing depthbiasedalpha and screenposition so the cloud dissipates as it gets close to the camera.

      If you're not too fussed about performance though, you could probably get a cooler effect with particles.

        I don't want it to dissipate.

        For those really far away clouds, I'd ofc use a model. But I want to make these clouds more, I dunno, dynamic, kinda like in San Andreas, if you played it.

        Right now I'm mostly concerned about the material itself. The clouds don't look convincing enough yet IMO.
