how to use "DOF" (depth of field)?

I want to the DOF effect in my scene.
I really need a tuturial .and who can give me some ideas?
it will be so greatful if anybody can share a step by step tuturial ...

View-> World Properties
It's under World Info Postprocess settings iirc, theres a checkbox, check it to enable the effect, then tweak it. Remember to keep it subtle ^_^

DOF is only visible in game or after pressing G (for game mode view in editor). Same for all other postprocess effects. For best DOF effects use small near DOF radius and small max DOF value, this gives nice soft shadows. For bloom play with kernel size. And most people dislike overused bloom, personally i use minimal values that can make desired feel of level.
