    Animated GUI?

I was looking through the UIScene Editor and I couldnt really figure out how to animate GUI.

The GUI version of Kismet didnt seem to have anything that let you modify the GUI while the game is playing. Maybe I'm missing something?

Basically I'm looking into the possibilities of creating skit scenes like you can see in Tales of Vesperia. Is it even possible with the UI tools provided?

You can animate it the same way you animate a material. You can do it multiple ways, but if you want to play a video, use a .bik file.

oh, maybe I should've explained better.

basically I want to be able to:
      - scale/translate images
      - change image

and somehow do it in an orderly fashion. would've been nice if you could do it with matinee but I suspect you cant. heh.

I too am interested in animating GUI scenes. For example it would be nice to have a menu that slides in from the top when you press a key and slides out when you close it rather than just popping and and out of existence.

I think this is what Kawe is asking about.

honestly, the easiest way would be to make it do whatever you want in an external program, like after effects, and then make it into a video, then bring it into the game as a .bik and make a material out of it. I don't really know much about the UI system, though.

hmm, is it possible to maybe fake it? like having a material/shader together a separate camera that is drawn last. so basically you render it out last. then you could animate it normally with matinee.

I guess if you want a button the slides over you'd have to enable it as it slides over on the animation.. and uuhh.. it'd be very troublesome I think.
