  • Commercial examples of Unreal Engine 3 for architectural use

HKS, one of the nation's top architectural firms, has used UE3 to visualize the Dallas Cowboys football stadium, the Dallas W Victory Hotel, Lucas Oil stadium, and other major undertakings.

Here are some articles this forum may find interesting:

    "Unreal Architecture," BusinessWeek

Case study: "Unreal Engine 3 Brings Architecture to Life"

Intel: "Epic's Unreal Engine Stops Playing Around: Non-Game Uses Open New Opportunities"

Oh, this is cool. hope you have a license clause that makes sure you get royalties for presentations that lead to a structure being built, i.e. some team uses it to design their new football stadium, and obviously a stadium will make money. I hope Epic gets a (small)cut of that.
    Just having your back.

That article is about the only commercial project example I could search for and it is dated 2007. It is discouraging that there hasn't been any more projects since that one. We are avidly marketing our archvis service using UDK and once we sit down with an architect, they all see the benefits but it's still difficult to get the word out. This new subsection is a welcome addition but I hope Epic can market this sector more aggressively.

I've already posted these on another section but these are demos we created so far. Another demo is completed and will be putting that up shortly.

Hi Taz, I was wondering, could you show me how you got the scores and the weapons to not show up in the final work, please. Im ok with the construction etc, but it just keeps showing the gun in hand and the scores

You can toggle that by using the command "togglescreenshotmode" (you may have to enter it twice before it works).

There are a couple other commands that are nice for getting screens, too - fly and tiledshot. If you're not familiar with commands, this should help.

Taz1004, your work aint bad. If you need a little help drop me a line. Good too see someone trying to push Arch Viz real time but still needs work bud, models are bit nasty, shader setup is basic, lighting could do with a slap. Love the fact your running a business doing this, alllll about the future of this market. KB
