G'day all, I'm Ed from Uppercut Games.

We're very excited (maybe too excited?) to be announcing our first iOS game: Epoch!

• Fight through the crumbling ruins of a once-thriving civilization as a freshly-rebooted robot that finds itself caught up in a mystery from the past.

• Take cover, dodge, select targets, use special abilities, and launch countermeasures against your foes!
• Smash a wide variety of mechanical enemies as you struggle to fulfil your ancient programming!
• Bolt on new tech torn from your fallen adversaries, or trade for parts in the Scrapyard - will you be a ninja-like sharpshooter or an unstoppable juggernaut?

We're using the excellent UDK, as we have a lot of experience with it from XCOM, Bioshock, all the way back to Tribes: Vengeance. Also, it's easy to develop with and makes the game look fantastic

if I used iOS I'd be tempted to buy it, hope you make a bundle!

Hi all, we're still cranking away at the game, getting it ready for the Q4 release.

Thanks for the kind words, WhiteNorthstar.

TheAgent - "on rails" is a very loaded term, and I'm not sure it's strictly applicable. We do move the character through the levels as he fights, but not in the same way as Time Crisis for example. Also, the freedom of movement you have within each skirmish is way beyond typical "on rails" games - in fact, it's a core concept of the game that you need to not be where your enemies are firing.

Anyway, hopefully be able to share more screens and footage soon that should more clearly show just how different EPOCH is

How are you finding the release process and garnering attention for your product? I notice the youtube has 99,000 views which is impressive man, nice job with promotions. Is the chest piece of this robot the severed head of the bad guy from robocop 2 cause man it's spot on

Hey Ironbelly,

No, much as I love the old Robocop 2 design (not as much as ED209, obviously ...), I think ours is more inspired by old-school anime - would have to ask our concept artist Andrew Ley to be certain! (you can see some his excellent work HERE).

The release process has been as smooth as we could possibly ask for, thanks to the UDK. Garnering attention on the other hand: that's just a WHOLE lot of work and we're putting as much effort into it as we can.
