Forgotten Temple - First UDK Level

    Hi,
To get use to the UDK I decided to make something using the assets that come with the kit before jumping in with modelling and importing my own work.

So I present to you, Forgotten Temple.

With Forgotten Temple I wanted to capture different settings and allow the level to flow easily through each setting change. I use different ambient sound changes to accent these changes as well as subtle to extreme color pallet changes.

I actually really like it. The map is definitely too dark in areas but you have tackled this project very well.

Thanks, I was originally going to have the outside be at night, and the remnants of the old lighting I had outside defiantly can still be seen, gotta bump some of the brightnesses here and there. I didn't want to go too deep into asset modification or creation, or I probably would have created my own night skybox but I did want to stick with the assets that came with the UDK for this project.

      Thanks again.

Really dig it, the only oddness to me was the darkness, yet sun flares. I think you took a very smart approach to use professional assets to get a feel for the engine and how everything behaves before tackling custom assets. Great stuff.

Way too dark to even get a feel of it really. try adjusting the depth of the shadows, you can have a dark scene without making it black everywhere.

Looks good for a first UDK map, but you should brighten things up. I always have the feeling that people try to hide things when it's to dark :-).
            Keep up the good work.

I'll defiantly work on making areas brighter. But some areas are intentionally dark because of setting, but the exterior environment needs brightening up yeah.
