    (iOS GAME ipad 2)Dark Lion Games looking for more team meambers for Dawn of Darkness

    Hi there, We currently have 4 dedicated people and have been working on our game for about a month and a half now.

    WE ARE 90% finished with the programming for our demo, we just need help with the art.

    WE HAVE :

    custom movement controls using gyroscope and accelerometer
    custom weapon controls using gyroscope and accelerometer
    Dynamic flashlight using gyroscope and accelerometer
    Touch screen to pickup items/interact with them
    orient screen onto key items to have them glow if they are important
    Save game state


    WORKING ON

    Touch screen magic system(similar to what they have in infinity blade)
    combat mechanics
    items
    enemy AI

    We are looking for concept artists, high to low poly modelers, texture artists, and primarily anything on the art side.

    ONCE WE ARE DONE WITH THE DEMO WE WILL DEVELOP OUR KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN AND ASK FOR FUNDING AVERAGING TO ABOUT 2,000 GROSS PER PERSON ON THE TEAM. WE WILL MINUS ANY COSTS FOR KICKSTARTER REWARDS, AND THAT SHOULD HOPEFULLY BE ENOUGH TO KEEP US MOTIVATED AND GET SOME TRACTION. BEFORE THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN GOES INTO EFFECT ALL CONTRACTS WILL BE DRAFTED AND SIGNED SO THAT EVERYONE GETS THEIR FAIR SHARE.

    The Game is tentatively titled: "Dawn of Darkness"

    Dawn of darkness is a First Person Immersion survival horror game.

    What does that mean? Well, we have come up with a unique method of controls that allows for the detection of your body In real life via the gyroscope and the accelerometer of the device.

    Our target platform is Ipad 2, but depending on a few factors we may release for ipad 1 and itouch gen 4 as well.

    Instead of describing the game I'll give you the rough outline of level one's story

    Game start:

    You-Tube video pops open of April Yang: “Oh, I hope this works! I am really scared. You know that research I have been doing on the history of the occult in our town …the research for my master’s thesis? You won’t believe what I have found out. This whole town was built on a site of ancient demon activity. They have been performing summoning rituals at that old mansion by the river… the one you and I photographed last semester. I came here hoping to stop them but I have failed and now I’m trapped here. I don’t know where I am or how to get out. It’s like I am running in circles.
    They have not discovered me yet but I cannot escape without your help. Please come alone! You can’t trust anyone! I don’t know how many people are involved but its possible the whole town may be involved! The college might be a way to lure people here for human sacrifices.
    I have found that in most places here I cannot get a signal out but I can’t stay in one place for too long or they will track me and find me. I have to keep moving! My I-Pad battery was damaged and I cannot maintain power. This video is going to take up a most of the power I do have and I am going to need to try to recharge again soon. I won’t be able to contact you often. I’ll try again once I am charged and in a place where I can get Wi-Fi service but with a damaged battery, my power charges won’t last long. I’ll send any messages by text so I don’t use up so much power again. Whenever you are in an area that gets service, try to check your messages or text me to let me know where you are or ask me for guidance. I know you don’t know as much about demons as I do but you know some and you are the only friend I can trust! Keep you I-Pad out and ready! I have figured out a way to fuse a containment ritual into an I-Pad App. It can be used to destroy demons. I am sending you that app and I’ll send you more apps as soon as I can. They will help you! Make sure you don’t run out of power! Your I-Pad needs a strong charge for the apps to work! Meanwhile, I am going to keep going over my research to find anything that can help us. Please hurry!”


    Level-1: Creepy Mansion
    Upon reaching the mansion you see the old cripple gatekeeper:


    As you progress, you notice that something is draining your power on your I-Pad but you cannot see what it is.

    You receive your first text message from April:”Make sure you don’t lose power! I’ve left clues for you! Find # research pages, # personal journal pages and a copy of some old sheet music. I only have a little power and I hear them coming so I have to move. You are smart! You can figure them out before it’s too late! Hurry!”



    Throughout the mansion is evidence that April has been here. You find pages of her research notes, her personal journal and a copy of old sheet music (sheet music in the room with the piano/organ?).
    Puzzle one – 3 Symbols on one wall need to be activated. The symbols will have buttons that you have to figure out to press. Decoding the correct order opens a door to a secret room that contains an old organ (Piano?); A research notes page describe the use of symbols in demonology and the importance of the proper order in rituals. A personal journal page on symbols reveals they represent a boy, a young man, an old man.
    Puzzle Two – Play the song found on the old sheet music:
    (1) You are able to see minor demons that have been draining the power from your I-Pad. They must be killed using the app April sent at the beginning.
    (2) You have notified the demons that you are on the track and this increases the rate power is lost from your I-Pad until you defeat all the minor demons in the room.
    (3) Once the demons in the room are defeated, you receive another text message from April: “I heard you play the song! Good work! Now you will be able to see the demons and contain or destroy them before they drain all the power from your I-Pad. ***Make sure you don’t run out of power!*** These demons you have encountered are only minor ones. If you face demons without enough power to contain or destroy them, you will be lost! Please don’t give up. I need you!”
    (4) After reading the text message, you will see an opening behind some now-damaged curtains that leads to another part of the mansion.

    After exploring the mansion and solving puzzles that lead to secret passages and rooms, you again come across the gatekeeper in a hidden room:

    Gatekeeper: “So you think to discover the secrets of the brotherhood of darkness and the demons they seek to release. I have been gatekeeper for many years and know my responsibilities well. For the demons to survive in their captivity, they must receive a sacrifice of blood. Thanks to the efforts of the brotherhood, some can project their essence enough to possess others or materialize in this plane now. For all the demons to be freed, they must be strengthened by a blood hunt which can only happen once every one hundred years. A female must be sent to the demonic plane to be hunted. She must be of strong will and intelligence to make the hunt challenging. The appropriate sacrifice has now been sent. It is only a matter of time before she is found and the demons are made strong enough to break free of their captivity. Your quest is at an end. You are too late. Turn back and you will be spared.”

    A text message arrives from April: “Don’t be fooled by the gatekeeper’s image! He is not a harmless old man. My research indicates The gatekeeper is a demon! You must figure out how to destroy him!”

    With the first attack on the gatekeeper, he runs toward one of the mirrors. Then his demon image runs back out to the middle of the room. Damage to the demon in the room does nothing. Most of the mirrors reflect back the demon but at each stage, the image of the old crippled gatekeeper appears in one mirror. It is this image that needs to be attacked.

    Gatekeeper (phasing taunts- random order or set?):
    “You seek to destroy what is not and ignore what is! Bwahahaha!”
    “You think you can harm me? I am the very image of immortality!”
    “You think to combat the power of the scrying? Fool! The powers of the black mirrors give me strength you cannot harness!”
    “You cannot harm me! Have you not figured that out yet?”
    “Your ignorance is a reflection of your weakness!”

    Gatekeeper (post death monologue): “Fool! It matters not that you have defeated me! The hunt has begun. You are too late! For your insolence you too shall be hunted! Join your friend in the demonic plane! Your blood will only increase the demon strength and ensure our release!”
    (AUTO ACTION – Cinematic) You are "ferried" into the demon plane where you hear sounds of something approaching from the hall. In front of you is a hidden tunnel behind a bookcase which is partially revealed. You choose to enter the tunnel to escape the demons coming up behind you, closing the bookcase-door behind you. A short way into the tunnel you find an alcove that has a power outlet to recharge your I-Pad. You plug in to recharge.
    Once recharged you get another text from April: “If you get this message hopefully you have defeated the Gatekeeper and escaped into the tunnel behind the bookcase. As long as you closed the doorway, those demons of the mansion don’t seem to be able to reopen it. You should be safe here for a moment while you recharge. I came through the tunnel a little while ago and found myself in the park. I have been trying to stay out of sight while seeking an exit. I’ll wait for you near the big old tree on the far side of the park. Hurry but don’t scare the birds! They will give you away!”

        Bump/update.

        We have all of the programming done for level 0 which is our tech demo and intro area to the game. I am going to begin making actual game models now, and would love the help of another high poly/sculptor.

                magic system complete. 8 different magic spells in the game. A few secret items concepted, and we have begun working on the high poly models for ingame normals. Still looking for more applicants to give this game its look. One of the bosses is being modeled by my friend Aaron Cruz @ www.pogimonz.weebly.com so we are very excited to have that for you in about a week or so.

                  bump. Still looking for more skilled artists. Would love to see this get off the ground. almost all the coding is complete save enemy AI which we will tackle soon. Any 3d artists out there?

                    bump, still looking for artists. This tech demo is small and its LOW POLY! Give it a go and find out more about the project! Lower time investment than big high end games and 30 day turnaround to see if we will get funding!
