You having this problem?
I have a good feeling that lots of people using Blender to rig things like vehicles and characters have had problems importing the skeletal meshes into UDK. Problems where **you have an extra root bone when importing your FBX skeletal mesh file**. Well I've found an article that solved all those problems, here, BUT I've tried to make it easier to follow below: http://krisredbeard.wordpress.com/tu...-player-model/
To make things easier for you guys, I have a modified version of the python script for the FBX export function in **Blender V 2.7.**
I uploaded the python script so you guys can download it to use. Just remember to backup the original export FBX script before replacing it http://www.mediafire.com/view/330utt.../export_fbx.py
Well I have that script now, but where do I put it?
The destination folder for the export FBX python script goes here: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.70\scripts\addons\io_scene_fb x
I've already tested this out myself and it works, on Blender 2.7. What's the best part about this, no need to purchase a 3DS max license, you've got Blender to use!
Note! I'm not sure if the script will work for older version of blender; 2.6. For older versions, I suggest that you take a look at the article.
