    Help with variables in kismet

    I'm pretty new to UDK, and I started up kismet to do some basic exploration. I don't know how to code so kismet really raised my spirits.

    I'm trying to declare a named variable and assign it a value, but I can't.

    For example (in pseudo code)

    var energy=10

    I tried to do the same in kismet, but it didn't work out that well. All the tutorials I've found either are really basic, or way advanced.

    This is a picture of my attempts, if you guys could help me understand how to accomplish what I want, I would be grateful.

    Kismet is awesome ! But you still need to learn a lot if you have little experience with code or game dev scripting. The Kismet reference is a good start. Creating variables and named variables is the easy part. For your example you may be better off using the get and modify health nodes using the player variable, from there keeping track of the health value and output it as a string for a visual cue.

        Thanks! That helps a lot. I didn't realize that you could name a float and then just plug that name into an object variable to get the value, but that's exactly what I was looking for.
