    Default Help with HallOfGiants

    I`ve decided to remake the classic and prolly one of my fav UT99 maps Hall Of Giants.
    Need a little help with the transporter tunnel on the base level.
    Could anyone recreate it like the original with the wormhole effect so that it warps u through the tunnel with the sound.
    I`m guessing this could be created using Physics volume but not too sure so if anyone would like to lend a hand it would be much appreciated.
    Theres 6 tunnels in all, the 4 at each side which shoot u up via jump pad so dont need a physics volume in there, just the wormhole effect and sound.

    Ive only done all the BSP so far just want to see how the wormhole looks before I continue

    there is also a DM-hall of giants somewhere;

    - does that save you some time?- maybe its a different map; dunno.

    - physics volume are used in rumpels twisted map, azures winter floodgate map, i have them in my minecraft map, also the nvidia maps use them..
    - umm the conveyor belt on one of the ut3 dm maps -[forget name- one with the U-Damage trap; cylinder lifts up and spins]

    these are just fleeting thoughts

    Many have already recreated it like that, and other ways too, of course. Do check out HO0815XX's version(s); the tunnels work reliably and smoothly (using forced-direction volumes, IIRC.) You will be able to see how to recreate it for yourself. http://www.gamefront.com/files/user/HO0815XX

    Dam the reason I was remaking it was due to the fact I couldn`t find a remake.
    Arghh might not be worth it now then : (

    Just hada look at HO0815XX's nice hes done an exact UT99 conversion, I wanna maybe update it a little and the tunnel isnt quite smooth enough and bugs out where the horizontal meets the vertical, and the gravity is wrong, thx anyway Nick

    Don't stop with your remake. Continue it, that's no reason to stop.

    Just would be cool if someone got a cool texture inside the tunnels and the physics working smooth, hopefully someone with a lil time on there hands will lend a hand : )

    im happy to help; just was not sure if you knew other versions existed.
    - problem is; if i help then people will probably not download the map

    - i check a video on youtube and it looked like a basic smoke effect; did you have a specific colour scheme/ pattern variation in mind?
    - once you have those 2 things decided its just materials and particle fun
    ^^ a good chance to use the udk techniques of separating the rgb in one single image.

    - and i agree- you should definately continue it anyway; i did with roughinery and was very happy

    - a physics volume works; have not tried any physics materials; never used them in ut3
    - i might have to install UT just to check the original map- to ensure accuracy on the physics

    I cant get any Physics/Gravity working inside the map. Never had that happen before?
    Yeh the tunnels are 1 way. Feel free to go wild inside the tunnels with the material shader, im ****e at that

    Hmm... You didn't use a huge physics/gravity volume to change your overall gravity, did you?
    Because then that might be what's causing it, you might want to try changing the order if that's the case.

    I even tried a relaly small 512 x 512 physics volume and grav volume they just dont seem to work inside the map, tried kills volume and that didnt work either.
    Copied and pasted the Physics volume from HO0815XX's version into the map and wouldnt worked, tried it in other maps and works fine, weird huh

    don't use them both collaboratively; we can skype this problem whenever you feel like it.

    - confirm the physics volume i gave you is a good start - so i have an idea of what you want;

    - c+p the code into the map....
    - go to blue flag - use "FLY" - go to the BIIII Jump pad you made - delete the BIII jumppad
    * and jump on into the hole

    - we will start from there...
