    Default iCL needs Environment Artist

    The Concept

A new sport has taken the World by storm. With a history that diverted from ours thousands of years ago, the superpowers of today are radically different. Sioux Indians hold North America, Vikings rule much of Europe and Russia, The Japanese have taken much of Asia and the Egyptians hold Africa... and for the benefit of the crowd they’re all killing each other. Huge stadiums holding hundreds of thousands of screaming fans encircle small combat arenas, where soldiers fight and die... and if you can’t hear the roar of the crowd, you’re already dead.

    Media

See our final Sioux Sculpt and Sioux Theme (music in the video below), don't forget to watch at 1080p!

Music: Check out our Viking, Egyptian and Sioux themes here!

    Weapon Modelling:

Take a look at our first completed weapon. The Lightforce by Synapse Weaponry. Beautiful modelling and texturing by Benjamin Leary.

    Concepts:

    Environment Art:

Here is one of our completed scenes, "Grapes Winery"

    The Features

iCL is a Multiplayer First-Person Shooter in UDK, taking all the favourable elements from the current influx of FPS games, and combining them. There are 3 Classes: The Vikings (Heavy), The Sioux (Sniper) and The Egyptians (Assault/Medic). At the start of the game, you pick a character, and the second you start playing, you begin gaining experience and leveling up. As your character progresses, you can pick stat upgrades and new character specific weapon and perk unlocks become available for purchase. That's where the Sponsor System comes in. The more you play the game, sponsor's approach you, offering different amounts of money for different tasks in game - it could be something as simple as getting a kill for 100 Credits, to something as awesome as getting a double head-shot for 10,000 Credits! Only being able to have one sponsor active at one time means that you get to tailor your means of income based on your play-style.

The UDK forums isn't a great place to look. Try polycount technical forums, CG talk, tech artists.

I'm not sure how many animators will want to rig though. Good to see you 'Staffs' folks are doing a project. Shout if you's need a hand/advise with any of the technical art stuff

Cheers Scott - we are looking elsewhere as well!

We're trying to keep our team reasonably small - hence no positions specifically for riggers etc...

We'd love to have another Staffs member on team working out some technical art stuff we need - don't hesitate to give us a shout if you want to get involved and if we have any issues I'll be sure to give you an ask in case you have any quick solutions!

I'd strongly advise not posting un-textured W.I.Ps.. Get solid pieces finished then tease the hell out of your audience!

    Still no animator.

I just felt the sculpt was so strong, I had to put it out there :P

Still no animator unfortunately - when we've got the low poly fully rigged we may have more luck

Heh, well there are two sides to it I guess - leaving it till assets are finalized is a bit more professional, but at the same time, we are trying to get exposure in order to recruit an animator, to which the model is directly related.

Hey I think the concept artwork is great and I like the feel of this project, where are your team members based (apart from James Tan)and age range, I have being using udk for a few years now working in small teams mostly and on my own projects, due to this I've had to learn many different trades to get things done(which I think is common place on here).

I have quite a lot of experience with rigging, skinning and animating characters and weapons in 3DS Max, importing and setting it all up in UDK, Animsets,Animtrees, physicsAssets etc...

I know how to use root motion correctly, also foot placement, skelcontrollers and how to set up custom animations in Unrealscript to make animations (I think) more believable.

I also use and know(in no particular order) zbrush, after effects, flash(actionscript, scaleform), cascade, photoshop, Unrealscript, materials and texture creation all in varying degrees of experience but I get things done, I have to admit I'm a little bit of a perfectionist at heart.

Sorry I know it's a bit of a list, but I thought its best to list everthing in case I can the project help in other areas.

I'll wait for a response as location is crucial to me.
