    Welcome back Sebastien-Nova!

    You should definitely return to mapping, there are less and less mappers - and mapping and modding is what keeps this game alive!

    Default Things are alive as long as we keep it alive...

    Alright, yesterday I downloaded this one and all the other mappacks by you guys! I always wanted to download your mappacks, but I didn't until yesterday, because I forgot about it or soemthing else was on my mind...oh well. Nevertheless, I personally like this mappack very much, because it contains a lot of nice art and well done maps, especially interesting ideas of design. Allow me to tell you, what I think about every map (short version).

    First of all, Amissa and Amissa Night Edition. These maps obviously remind me of Albatross from UT2004 and I do like the result and look of the UT3 version. I honestly have to say, when I played this map for the first time, I didn't get the deal of the lighting and ambience, but later I realized, that I like, because it fits to the map and looks good, especially the Night Edition. I'm a big fan of night maps, because there you can see, who knows how to do mapping and in this case, I love this one. Besides that, I also like this map, because I played it very much in UT2004. Still remember many 1v1s with my soul mates on this map and now I can do this in UT3!

    Let's move on to Insidious. You cannot imagine, how much I played this map in UT2003, because this map is small and fast and once you play with the right number of players, it is a lot of fun and now it is the same thing in UT3. However, the ambience was sweet in UT2003, but the UT3 version kicks ass and I like this! I already some time on this map and it brought good old memories back.

    Tapinak and Tapinak Night Edition. When I see maps like these two, I always get the idea of the floating islands from Tomb Raider 2, because the idea is there. Despite this, I kinda like the structure of these maps. Sure, both maps do look kinda 'simple' and good, but it makes a lot of fun to play them. Especially when you kick the other one over the edge, which I do like to do a lot. Also, the ambience is good done, even when you get the impression, there is only one kind of light, but it is still good. To me, the Night Edition, is a little bit better than the 'day version', but I dunno why! Perhaps because of my little romantic virtue...

    I downloaded the first version of Vortex Legacy some days ago and I liked this version the same way like the new one. Sure, the new one contains more structure and weapons and is a little bit different to Vortex Rikers, but you clearly get the idea, what's going on there. Even when the ambience is different, by using more darkness, it is still a wonderful map, because it is a great part of Unreal history. I hope there will be more like this one in the future, because it looks awesome with UT3 quality and more of this, well let's call it a dream. This map just rocks!

    The map Skives remind me of the typciall UT99 and low poly design, which means the using of add and subtract brushes only and less or no static meshes. I'm a fan of those maps, because they are fun! It is not always necessary, that there are thousands of polygons as detail (static meshes), even something simple looking can be good, like in the case of UT99 and many other maps. Nevertheless, I do like the way, how this map does look...old, alive and interesting, that's what I think. I really like that trap at the shield belt. When I stood for the first time on the class, I thought trap or deco...hmm...but I was too curious and a second later, those spines kicked my ass very much, but it was funny.

    Last, but no least, the map Itarion. This is by far one of the craziest maps I have ever seen. This map doesn't look great only, it is also a huge load of fun to play this map! When I played this map for the first time, I thought...ehrm yeah, where do I have to go. Little help over here!!! Just kidding, the gameplay is awesome on this one! Pretty easy to kick someone over the edge, hehe. Besides that, the design reminds me of Mirror's Edge and Portal somehow, so many cubes...holy moly and the ambience is just delicious, in my opinion. You did a marvellous job there mate and I think this is one of the most futuristic and simple maps in the entire Unreal Universe!

    In the end, all I want to say is, just thank you guys, for this great mappack and I hope there will be more and more by you in the future!!! Keep it up and let it rock!!! Ah yeah, by the way, I also added the preview video to my favourites on YouTube, because I just love it, epsecially the music!

    Specially THX Anubis for the detailed feedback, this is how "I like to be paid back" Honestly, I'm surprise about the good reception of Itarion since it's my less detailed & simplest map so far which I've made in ±2 months!

    Have fun with the maps & the upcoming ones. It's a nice Christmas gift after all

    I have had that same impression that sane madness and garanteed fun in this map. Does it have many spots to hide attack, snipe, rl that gives many possibilities to attack or defends from enemies Steve did you realize this map is fresh and cool I dont remember one map that combines madness and fun action that blend makes unforgeteable in a map like this

    Im hoping for the second part mate keep ya fraggin!

    To Achernar: Yeah I misspelled wrong the namemap lol I was drinkin My dear J&B hehehe, your maps it does have a great ambience and a lot z-action, this pack is funny!

    Another great map pack guys. Thank you.

    Of course, I have a favorite and that has to be Skives by Achenar.
    I just love this map. It’s very unusual for UT3 and I think you’ve got everything just about right,; great colour, love the glass trap, interesting game-play, even the bots play well.
    I will just mention one thing, if you climb the wooden 45 degree beams on the top floor you can get outside the map.

    Looking forward to the second part.
    Thanks again.

    No worries.

    @Anubis 'Shadowgod'
    Thx for spending the time to make review of each of our maps. I've put your comments about Skives on my site. We appreciate detailed feedback, and this is it, thx again.

    @Tipper
    Thats nice to hear Skives is hitting the right notes. I just have to ask, what is your fee for bug testing, coz I really need someone like you to point these problems out? I'm afraid this map has suffered alot for the fabled BSP gremlin (a creature although no one has seen him/her/other can always tell where its been. The mark of gaping inexplicable holes, phantom collisions, or in this case no collision where there should be). I guess its the cost of going down a limited or no static mesh pathway. I can say at least its not an exploit, I hope its not too much of a distraction. Will be fixed in the GRD and DOM versions. Thx for commenting.

    @Taffy.
    Thanks for telling. I'm reworking the lighting to give a night time theme with the upcoming GRD version, hope it works out.

    Good job on the map pack guys, the maps look pretty damn sweet, I'll be back with more words once I've reinstalled UT3 and actually played the maps. Sorry for not being around much lately but I promise you that I'll be back soon for at least one last map before I retire completely from UT3

    having a bit of fun with this now. i like the map called "breaking through". and also the one that is an old map, but new, and the Steve Lois entry into the world of low grav fun. insidious was fun as heck on unreal championship, or wherever i played it before this( igets confuse, with all the selfinflicted memory loss.)

    i still need to sink my teeth into tapinak more,
    and as is the case i projects past, SwordPork Lord delivers the ambience,atmosfear, and awesome that some of us who don't actually participate in the development cycle of these projects has grown to appreciate.

    i love this game a lot for the fact that the replay value lies in the hands of dedicated fans and players who still breathe this game.

    Thumbs up cool DM map pack!

    DM-UOF3-Amissa > I like the custom textures/meshes, ambient sounds, custom music track and lighting as well as the architecture and play of colors on the rocks. The gameplay is fun and has a classic feel to it. It's really hard to tell this is based on Albatross unless you play both maps back-to-back. The bots are fairly good in here also.

    DM-UOF3-Amissa-NE > The lighting really brings the map to life in this night edition and the opponents are somewhat harder to find. The cobwebs really come to life at night and the sky is great!

    DM-UOF3-Insidious > Aha, I remember this one from the UT2003 ladder matches I think (unless I'm thinking of some other map). Anyway, this is just as simply designed and fun as the original and I like the updated UT3 look. I almost screamed (ok I did scream) when I fell into the fan.

    DM-UOF3-Itarion > This one is either loads of fun or a PITA in TDM and Betrayal with the crazy cubes, good shadows and falling death as well as good music choice. It's a good thing there was low gravity; otherwise, I would have fallen a lot more often.

    DM-UOF3-Skives > This one has great classic gameplay and simple looks. I like the windows, woodwork, tiled floors, music choice, fog on the lower floors, jumppad sounds, breaking glass, and the sound of spikes up my a$$. The bots are not as good in these last 3 maps as first one.

    DM-UOF3-Tapinak > The skybox is boring, but the rest of the map has a cool oriental theme with fitting music track. A simple map with simple pleasures makes for a fun fragging environmental and classic gameplay.

    DM-UOF3-Tapinak-NE > The night version is different from the day version as Babylon Night is different from Babylon. The sky really comes alive in this versions and reflects upon the features of the map.

    DM-UOF3-Vortex Legacy > Is it Unreal or is it Memorex? It's similar yet different but the same. I like the new twist with the neon and fitting music and you gotta love the lifts and tunnels. I didn't like the slow field and redeemer in these tight quarters.
