    Since launch date, I would say about 99% of my gaming time in Gears3 has been on Horde.

    Great to see some top tips posted here, and at "The Dom Knight's" thread.

    Personally, the first time I beat Wave50 was on Trenches, with 4 guys I didn't know, all 5 of us strangers to one another, all with mics & headsets. Was such a thrill! Took us about 4 hours to beat wave50 onNormal...my top tip for Trenches at this (and maybe would work with higher difficulty settings) setting, was to have all 5 guys in "the pit" / bunker in the middle of the map, with the 3 command posts surrounding it.

    We bought a Silverback are wave 23, and deployed him on one side of the map / entry ramp to the pit. I held the central ramp entry point, one guy on the opposite side entry ramp to the Silverback, two guys at the back near the sandbags to avoid the horde spawning & to issue orders about where the horde was coming from.

    Boss waves on this map were pretty straightforward...the only ones we really had to leave the pit for, we're the Berserkers & Corpsers. Bunkers were no problem with the Silverback, and Boss50 was a Brumak who wasn't able to enter the pit.

    I'm really keen to beat Horde on Insane with a group of 5, all talking, co-ordinating & playing for the team. Add my tag, send me a message & maybe see ya on Horde for Insane!

    Just to keep everyone posted on the latest news.
    I am working on updating all the original maps with location of the Command Centre as well as working on all fortifications of the new maps.
    Unfortunatly my mate who does all the graphical sides of things is away on business until next week.

    The site is getting updated with details of the new fortification costings etc as and when we upgrade them.

    So expect a huge site upgrade in the next coming week or so with new maps etc.

    Watch this space.

    Thanks to our Forum member Crininson we have updates for the original maps for Command Centre locations. Getting the High Res maps updated with this info.
    I have all the details for the 3 new maps also, so working on the High Res versions of them too.

    In the mean time we have added details for Mutators to the site including criteria to get them and the impact they have on XP/Money Spent towards upgrading fortifications.

    Hey there Epic, gotta say, I'm lovin Horde. Everytime I play (whether on a four man team or kickin it solo) I have a blast and I gotta say that you guys have almost perfected the gametype compared to all other games and versions of Horde I've played.

    However, I have one major complaint and I really do hope you take this into consideration for I believe it would enhance the horde experience aplenty. Here it goes.

    I was wondering if you guys could allow the host to add or diminish the time inbetween waves for repairing and upgrading defenses.

    When I play Horde solo (which I love to do; adds a more frantic and scary experience to the gameplay) I always breathe a massive sigh of relief when I complete a wave. Then I proceed to make a dead run to scavange weapons and ammo and repair and build fortifications yet I barely ever have time to accomplish what I need to do. Particularly when a player goes it solo, you accumulate precious money that you cannot even use because before you know it, you got a new wave of Locust on your hands with a half destroyed base and a weapon with half a clip in it. It would add soo much more to the game if the player had a extra thirty seconds to get himself gathered.

    I hope I was clear on the point and look forward to some kind of response, from either Epic of fellow Horde-Heads. Thanks.

    Great guide! I love to look at the layout and devise the best strategy for fortifications. Being able to see the whole layout helps a lot. I did notice Azura has a turret on the balcony thats not shown.

    Hmm, personally I think Clocktower is a great map around and would probably serve you well playing solo.
    Using the base at the back with the decoy and barriers deployed you can see everything coming your way the extra support of the command centre and purchasable boomshot. There is also enough covers from the cars to get out of the area if you get over run.

    Hope this helps.

    (Although bare in mind playing solo wont get you any ribbons or work towards any medals.)

    if you dont mind i have some suggestions also

    for blood drive:
    create bases in the yellow and green zone. keep at least one person in the green zone to keep enemies from spawning there and the rest in yellow. keep a turret at the top of the green and once there is enough money put the a silverback in the spawn zone where there are two windows so that it still can see some enemies and will be much harder to get damaged by enemies. i survived up to wave 46 on normal with randoms but i lost connection but we would have likely won if i didnt.

    for azura:
    create bases in the green and zone(balcony) create turrets in the two spots and keep a silverback on the right side. keep the other 2 in the blue base or split them up helping the silverback and left turret. for the former if things get too hard for the two in red base, they can retreat back to the balcony and help hold the enemys back.

    most of all dont waste money on many decoys and sentries, try to save it to buy back lives. an extra hand would be much more useful than a sentry.

    Hey, first of all, really nice work, I'm sure your maps have been a huge help to loads of people. The other day, I finished horde on mercy, and I noticed that you've missed a sentry location on your map. In the blue area, just next to the turret, there was an extra sentry when I played.
    Also, I just checked the trenches map, and I believe the sidenotes on which area provides which fortifications are from the trashball map.
    Otherwise, everything is spot on as far as I know. Can you confirm this? And again, thanks for the effort of putting all of this together, really cool.

    That's a cool question.
    From personal experience (and not including latest maps) if say checkout and bullet marsh can be pretty tough.
    Checkout because it is such a right space. You can run out of cover or get surrounded pretty fast.
    Bullet marsh because it is so open and again cover can be on short supply for multiple directions. Especially if they have the high ground. Out of the two I found bullet marsh tougher.
