I agree, Sketchup is much better than the primitive BSP and CSG stuff in the editor. Good work folks!

Yeah totally seenooh, I always start with a top-down rough sketch of a level, but its only until you have fleshed it out in 3d that you know whether its going to make a good environment or not. Sketchup is a really good way to quickly prototype a level and give it some depth before moving into your BSP editor (or whatever you're using).

It's a free tool so there's no excuse for people not to be using it

Default Ether One: The Restorer Trailer

    Hey guys,

So our new trailer is here! Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think. All gameplay and art are still only a beta level so still lots of improving to do but everything that you see is in-game (minus the writing cuts).

If you want to play this game be sure to vote for us on Greenlight! We would really appreciate any support you guys can give! Need to see more Unreal games up there!

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=96424148

    Thanks guys!

Love the graphics, love the art style, the overall concept/design and I can't wait to get my hands on this game. The lighting is also top-notch. You guys are badass, keep it up!

Our interview with Pete from White Paper has just hit our YouTube channel. He chats about developing Ether One in the Unreal Engine, some of the inspirations for the game and, of course, the Oculus Rift.

    Awww kind words guys, thanks!!!

@Neongho - No real time day and night cycles going on - it is one big level (broken down into sub-levels) which we do change the time of day. But we never do it dynamically. I wanted to have a lot more control over the performance and I find just having a directional light (instead of dominant) and optimising the collision and lighting channels a lot gives me a bigger pay off which means it works on quite low spec PC's which we're really happy about!

Jinchur , DanielSnd, BloodBrothers - THANKS! Hearing nice things about our work keeps us pumped during the long hours so thank you!

    Default March 25th 2014!

    Hey All!!

So after a long development we're finally ready to announce the release of Ether One which is on March 25th.

You can see the teaser trailer below:

    http://www.ether-game.com/

We have also released a new screenshot:

We're really excited to get this game out to you guys. We were saying in the studio yesterday that it will be weird to load up Unreal and hit 'new level' instead of opening our existing levels! I'm sure many of you have had that experience once a big project has been completed so you'll know what a surreal feeling that will be!

If any of you have any questions about developing / releasing games in UDK fire away and I'll do my best to answer them! Epic have been awesome with helping us out so hopefully it will be a fun and interesting month for us!

Will be updating as we push out new UDK content over the next month so be sure to check back!
