    Default Mia...

    Does MIA mean they haven't been found? Or they've been found and no CISD entered?

    But I've a rendezvous with Death
    At midnight in some flaming town,
    When Spring trips north again this year,
    And I to my pledged word am true,
    I shall not fail that rendezvous.

    MIA - Missing in action.

    I assume the title is given for either situation?

    Some were probably lost during storms, or clean ups. Or someone found it and never posted it on this site. Or someone found and threw it out, gave it to someone else. I guess I should enter my CSID.

    KIA = Killed In Action
    MIA = Missing In Action
    WIA = Wounded In Action
    AWOL = Absent Without Leave

    etc...

    MIA is used when the whereabouts of the service member is unknown.
    AWOL is used when the member has not reported for duty, and has not had permission to leave.

    So one can be MIA (Missing) for the week, but it turns out, they went AWOL (left) .....
    I'll check in every now and again but for the most part, I won't be as active as I was previously. It really was the Gears + people that got me posting on here in the first place. Unless Epic release an awesome game or something. I'm leaving this message because I'm obviously a very, very important person.

    Hope to see a lot of you on the BT Forums! - 11/02/2014 (lol)

    MIA is also used as a term by people of everyday life, a quick way to simplify the fact that the person has not been seen or you do not know where he is.

    Example:

    Person 1: "Where's Doug?"
    Person 2: "Don't know - he's MIA at the moment."

    The correct term is used as a Military term. The civvie term is just slang.
