Renegade X 0.36 Patch Release

Hello and welcome to Renegade X's first patch release! Renegade X is the Command & Conquer mod for Unreal Tournament 3 and, as promised, we opened the doors of our beta to the public on September 30th.

On that day we also mentioned that the Renegade X 0.35 release (first beta) is just the beginning in the series of patches and releases, which will both add new content and fix old content. And now, just over two weeks after the release, our first major patch is here!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This patch in no way, shape, or form, represents the final version of Renegade X. Absolutely everything in this build is subject to change, and is likely to be changed as time passes by. Also, this patch does not fix all issues. Although the change list is large, we are still working on fixing some major and minor issues with the mod. We know about most of the glitches - please be sure to not report the same bug twice. This version also does not contain all of the planned vehicles, weapons, maps, infantry, or game modes. This will all come with time.

Before you download this, it is important that you consider the following:

1. You must have a legal copy of Unreal Tournament 3. If you don't have it yet, it can be found for extremely reasonable prices on Steam and most game stores.

2. You must have the latest Unreal Tournament 3 patch applied to your game. If you have UT3, and have not yet patched it with the latest UT3 patch, then please download it here: http://udn.epicgames.com/Files/UT3/UT3patch5.exe NOTE: If you bought the Unreal Tournament 3 Black Edition from Steam you do NOT need this patch (it's already included).

4. The Renegade X Server-Client patch released on October 1st is NOT necessary for this 0.36 patch. If you didn't downloaded the Server-Client patch released after the Renegade X 0.35 Beta, you don't need to. Simply download 0.36 (and consider the above) and you will be ready to go.

Renegade X 0.36 Change List

This patch is developed for version 0.35 of the Renegade X open beta, and is intended to fix a handful of technical issues and balance fixes to improve the gameplay experience. Check out the changelist HERE
We reverted the main menus back to UT3's menus for the time being so don't panic when you see the UT3 menus!

Renegade X 0.35 Beta Download Numbers:

We are proud to announce that the beta 0.35 version of Renegade X has had over 15,000 downloads from the following mirrors: Renegade-X.com, Borgamers.com, Filefront.com, Fileplanet.com, and ModDB.com

This does not include the dozens of other download mirrors around the internet, so we can only imagine what the actual amount of downloads are like. We're happy to have such a large fanbase - the number of downloads and dedicated fans clearly show that the demand for a C&C FPS is still high.

The new remake version of Hourglass is now out. It comes with the Renegade X 0.36 patch. Enjoy!

A modified version of hourglass with a barren, desert theme. It lack base defenses, and also side paths.





Renegade X in the Make Something Unreal Contest finals

The Renegade X team had submitted a version of the mod to Intel's Make Something Unreal Contest, possibly the biggest and most popular mod contest worldwide. In October, the MSUC team announced that Renegade X has made the finals in the Non-FPS category of the contest. Our New Years trailer also made the finals in the Best Machinima category. Congrats and best of luck to the mod!

wow that new version of hourglass look good downloading now

I just wanted to point out there's a bug with reloading. If you fire off the last of the ammo in your magazine it automatically starts reloading for you, but if you hold the fire button down it starts jumping between firing and starting to reload again after a couple of shots. I presume it's a case of something (an IsReloading type boolean or something responsible for whether the weapon should reload instead of firing) not being set correctly until the player releases the fire button.
