    Description:
    I think there's no need to introduce PT4;p
    This is another remake of this map.
    The DM version has a double damage and an additional path behind the room.
    The 1on1 version is more "classic". No double damage, less ammo, smaller filesize...etc.
    The PS3 version is basically same as the DM version.

    Comments:
    I think so far this is the only PT4 remake in which the automatic doors are working;p
    The short ramps next to the double damage, are for dodge-up. The long one is for hammer jump.
    The teleporter behaviour is kinda like those in q3, so you always face the belt platform when get teleported.
    Use the jumppads cleverly.

    Thanks! i saw all your WIP in BU, great maps btw! Did you fix the solid light thing?

    Will you create more UT3 maps or at least port some UT2K4 maps? Hieron, BloodRun, Altitude and Mania look great.

    Very impressive remake indeed.

    I´ve never seen that portal before, looks really really cool.

    Generally, I like the idea of giving the map a Quake 4 layout rather than making it a plain Quake 3 copy.

    Texture choice and lighting is excellent.

    No doubt it´s a keeper & must have for everyone! Thanks!

    Definatly gonna download this. I loved Quake 3 and I still play it. I think UT3 needs more Q3 maps, they were all perfect imo.

    Yes, the solid light collision bug is fixed, as I know
    I think more maps. But remake, hmm let me have a rest for the moment.

    Thanks, but what Q4 layout? Is there a Q4 PT4 having the same layout as this map?

    UT3 needs more solid, fun maps with less decoration details. I think.

    But your map really looks like a Quake 4 map, the textures are somehwat similar, the jumppads look same.

    Great remake which captures the mood and gameplay of the original, plus adds a style of its own. very nice!

    The textures are like QL more than Q4, IMO. I just took QL as reference. You are right about the jumppads. I did a "clone" for the style.

    Does anyone know how long it takes before gameservers includes this on the redirect. I am holding off on including the 1on1 version until I can get fast downloads.

    Hey I've got another question for ya How did you make the dodge ramps? After playing on your map for a little bit I just realized I was dodging like in ut2k4.

    I forgot to mention in my last post that all the on screen animation, music kismet sequence are simply awesome

    The animated ingame preview screen is also a very nice touch. The delay between each picture is a bit to fast imo but is quite rare to see that in UT3. I only know 3 maps that as animated preview screen since the game came out so it's not much in all. Anyway, it's a nice touch

    That's a serious mapping lesson you give us there !

    Very kickass map & a huge THX again for your awesome work !

    I don't know there are other maps using animated preview image. Could you tell me which maps they are? I am curious to know the way they animate.

    Yep,

    Quickly, look at DOM-AKI (included in the MOD) but I don't remember the other one... still I think it's another DOM map that I didn't kept but you will find it in the MOD for sure.

    Chong, the more I play this level, the more I'm blown away. This really is one of the best examples of a clean, uncluttered map that is retail quality. Just had some great battles on the server tonight on it! Congrats!

    MapMixer cannot display the bik movie for the map preview. Is there any other preview as a simple image? I've found this reference in utmapmixer_mapdatabase.ini:

    There isn't any. This is what I do for maps that either don't have a preview pic or MM doesn't recognize it... I create my own and add them to my own .upk file, then edit the .ini file that came with the map. It won't cause conflicts with anyone else and you can see a nice pic of the map on the menu.

    OK. Actually, this morning I've been fixing the missing map previews I had. Most of them had to do with incorrect text in the sImageMarkup reference. I've fixed them just by intuition and trying out. I have no idea how to use the editor, so it's a mystery for me how to create a file with some textures for map previews.

    If you are interested, check out this and this tutorial. Between both of them, you should be able to figure it out. Basically, you need to take the screen shot, crop it in the correct dimension, import it into your own .upk file, get the "reference" address, and paste it into the .ini file. PM me if you need more help.

    With this tutorial http://www.unrealplayground.com/foru...ad.php?t=48251 I've been able to create a map called previews.ut3 with two images, one for your map and the other for DM-Q3DM7-Beta1, which wasn't showing the preview either. After many attempts, I've finally got this working. If I find any other map without preview I'll add it here. Thanx.

    DL'd and retyed the map for PS3 locked up my machine, and now the "disable mods" that pops up after a crash, doesn't pop up anymore. Maybe it's a conflict with another mod, maybe it's just me in genreal, Map looked great though. After I delete and reinstall ut3 system data (as it is the only way to get the game working again) I may install it first and see if it conflicts.

    Excellent remake and plays great on the PS3.
    I have to say the animated preview image is just brilliant...all maps should have this feature.

    Good remake faithful to the original with similar gameplay and decent atmosphere. This map has crazy portal and jumppad action and the bots are not bad either. I like the central area as it can get pretty wild in there. I did also notice the doors wouldn't open in the flyby, but I guess not much we can do about that. I did notice the previews were a little undetailed but once I got in the map it was fine.

    EDIT: Before I make more comments on this one, I'd like to point out some quick comments on the original Q3 version: nice layout, like purplish trim, skybox needs work, good gameplay, bot is tough, like the billboard and slime in the center. Now I tried this UT3 version again tonight and I do like the fact that most of these UT3 versions added a teleporter in the bottom center as it really helps a lot. I'd also like to point out that this one has cool textures/meshes and I love the huge radio tower with decent skybox and good music choice. The jump to the shield belt is a PITA like the original Q3 versions and VerticalVengeance beta by Reverse.

    Thx and saw your reply on BU's forum too. The previews is low detailed coz this way the filesize can be very small and doesn't affect your browsing in the map selection window.

    Hmm...that could work in UT3, since both Q3A and UT3 have additive engines, so transferring the geometry could be near flawless...although some of the BSP should be replaced with meshes, to make it more dazzling when you do convert the geometry...same with CS:Source, or the older Quake games, Doom 3, etc...or any game engine with additive BSP material. I mean, the outer BSP needs to remain, as well as any inner rooms, but in terms of decorative BSP, like pillars, steps, ramps, etc...that should be replaced with meshes, just so you know.
