Default What's a good internet Speed?

I've been hearing lots of threads about what internet speed people have and what's required. I'd just like to know, what is a good recommendation of a speed for playing on XBL?

I checked my internet speed with Speakeasy using IE.
My download speed was: 2881 KBPS
My Upload speed was: 673 KBPS

Would you consider this good, bad, average?

Decent as a client, not that great as a host.

Download speed > 20812 kbps (solid average over 19,000 kbps anytime of day )
Upload speed > 4993 kbps (average usually over 4000 kbps)
    Service Provider > Comcast

Note using www.speakeasy.net/speedtest site, I check my speed with a server as far away from me as possible. In my case I live in Chicago and I check it against Dallas, Texas to get the best results.

10Mb+ and you are pretty much good for most of the game, within your continent.

you need about 64kbps (128kbps being ideal) of upstream for each person in your room even before you start to factor in distance, routers, and other factors that can effect latency.

Most host's don't understand the upstream issue and simply look at 100Mbit and think their connection is awesome... don't be that fool.

you'll need a D/L of about 1-3MB Upload of 1-2MB. I have upload of 500KB's it can support about 10 players if their from UK , or about 7-8 if some are from US.

But 1MB ftw. + No one else on your internet.

That sounds about right. I was getting ~350kbit on average when I host in Horde. I would have spikes as high as 650kbit on some occasions. Since Horde is half the players of standard multi, I would say 2Mbit+ upload will make you a good host.

The only way anybody is going to get 100Mbit is if they are in Japan or if they have their Xbox hanging off their corporate LAN. Highest residential right now is 50/20 with FiOS or 50/5 with Comcast's new Docsis 3.0
