    XS Vehicles is an Unreal Tournament vehicle set characterized by innovation and eye for detail. XS Vehicles favors the exotic and explores the possibilities of balanced vehicular combat.

    This thread is the UT3 continuation of UT2004's longest forum thread and is intended to discuss future productions.

    I like the teeth on the epsilon.
    NO OTHER MAPS THAN TORLAN IS PLAYABLE IN THE DEMO! DEAL WITH IT!still waiting for the Xs mod. I hope they complete it before I grow a beard.

    OMFG...awesome The Epsylon is the coolest UT vehicle concept i ever see , it reminds me robocop XD.

    but the Kerioth seems to be to F*king BIG... we can play an entire deathmatch inside

    Those "teeth" are a (default) texturing coincidence. The end result is not meant to look like that (though it may or may not have teeth).

    We are exploring the possibilities. What gets ingame depends on the amounts of time and energy we have and how promising the prototypes turn out. The Colossus and especially the Epsilon are proven concepts already.

    We're currently testing prototypes. It's supposed to make strafing and bombing runs. To encourage that, its weapons increase in power as it gains forward speed.

    Great work guys, grats on your UT3 release.

    On a side note:
    What exactly is the Kerioth, and what does it do?
    When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament it's a "Monster Kill", in Quake3 it's "Excellent", and in Counter-Strike it's "Kick Banned"

    We're still figuring that out ourselves. It's huge, at any rate. And it should hover/walk a bit like the Darkwalker. Those rows of cylinders are missile pods. It might also have some sort of shockwave weapon that blasts down into the ground from its center.

    I uploaded a Condor fighter/bomber prototype. Download is at the bottom of the top post. Installation instructions included in the Readme.

    Condor For Dummies:

    • The vulcan gun firing rate depends on your speed; the faster you go, the faster they fire.
    • You can only drop a bomb if you have enough bomb energy. Collect bomb energy by going fast. The bomb energy reserve is displayed in the graph bar in the lower right of your HUD. Drop a bomb when the bar is full.

    The prototype is there to gather feedback, so please provide your opinion!

    I like that model better than the first one.

    The condor keeps dropping bombs even when stationary if you accelerate to bomb dropping speed and hold the right mouse button down while decelerating.

    By default, yes. But you should be able to configure that in some sort of variation of the vehicle replacement mutator.

    Dont know how much work it would take, but when you have more vehicles it would be cool if you had a go at making something like this:

    We could chose what to replace with what and be able to use over 40 vehicles in one game.

    I was thinking more along the lines of a "vehicle set versus vehicle set" mutator where each team gets only vehicles from one specific vehicle set, be that Axon, Necris or XS. You could set up XS versus Axon, XS versus Necris or the classic Axon versus Necris matches.

    Ahhh! Like what Epic had said they would be doing origionally. I think that would be great if you could get it to work!

    Oh yeah. With the condor/bomber... What would it replace? The Harpy already removes all other flying vehicles. Would you alter the Harpy and have the bomber replace cicada?

    And how far along are you with the Epsilon? Any ideas as to how long its gonna be before we get to roam around in that baby?

    Whatever you configure it to replace. By default I'd say Raptor/Fury.

    Conceptual design is done (we already have a working UT2004 version), but other than that all we have for UT3 is an almost-finished model. It'll be a while, can't say how long, depends on what we choose to work on first.

    No need for that. People get roadkilled by vehicles, and that includes the Epsilon's feet.

    Speaking of which... I've been messing around with an oversized Scavenger to see how the Colossus could turn out, and it's been great fun squashing Hellbenders and whatnot with it.
