    MAP-DM DM-Gossamer

    Name: DM-Gossamer
    Version: 1
    Compatibility: UT2004
Description: A Snowy Albatross themed map. Supports about 4-8 players.
Comments: I want to thank all the people who helped in the beta thread, it'd look crappy if it weren't for you guys. And the fps really isn't the greatest.. it gets kinda slow when you're in the long corridor area because from there you can see across the map.

I love this map (the theme) and it's extremely fun to play. I don't have a lot of time but if I were to pick out anything that bothered me:

-I got stuck on the terrian in a couple of the rough spots if a i got pushed from a rocket for instance.

-Water in one area or at least a water texture is flowing from no where to no where. In another spot you clearly had a grate it came out of, maybe you forgot it on the one. The texture looked like it needed to be turned too.

I love the map though and I can't stress that enough. That stuff above is minor and I didn't have a whole lot of time to play it. I'm sure people with more time might find other things, I'm usually not trying to escape maps when I fight, since it kills DPS which is really important to me for securing that #1 spot all the time.

Also, didn't have any slow-downs. I liked a little higher player count then suggested, but other than that, and with only 30 mins to play this a few rounds, it's found a permanent place on my server.

What made you dig this one up?

And you just missed the download; I deleted it off my comcast space a few days ago! There's a mapraider page too, I believe.

    Cool

Good atmosphere, interesting cold theme with grasses and water, wide-open gameplay, bots, skybox, birds chirping and white carpets. Good weapon/item placement (with weapon base bug) but I think some inside areas are quite small enough and terrain needs work.

    Thumbs up

The bots were tough in this one especially with the default bot load; there seems to be too much glare off some snow patches and some overbright spots for no apparent reason; I didn’t really notice getting stuck on the terrain or the water issues; I like the preview shots, skybox, falling snow, light torches, architecture intertwinned in rocky terrain, grass and other vegetation.

Thanks to DarkSonny for finding this one and Private Tux for posting the new working link!
