Introduction to Character Modeling in 3ds Max 2010
These series of tutorials will be a comprehensive look into the development of a character from start to finish. I'll be covering modeling, UVs, texturing, shaders, sculpting in Mudbox, displacement mapping, rigging, animation and rendering as well as using the high fidelity assets to generate in-game models which will be imported into Unity 3D and the Unreal Development Kit.
I'll be offering these tutorials in weekly installments over a period of a few months.
Part 1 - Setup
In this tutorial, I'll be covering intial scene setup for
reference photography and concept art.
Part 2 - The Eye
In this tutorial, I'll be covering how to model using strip modeling techniques.
I'll also build an eyeball, texture it and build the eye socket.
