    change it to this and save

    [Engine.Engine]
    ;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
    RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice

    WHY would you want to use it.

    its slower then the d3d..looks twice as bad.

    I prefer the opengl look to directx/d3d. It looks deeper, more textured. Slower? Not on my boxes.

    Regarding the ut2004.ini file change. You need to comment out the current rendering engine and uncomment the opengl engine.

    Before:

    [Engine.Engine]
    RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice

    After:

    [Engine.Engine]
    ;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
    RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
    ;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice

    Ogl would probably run faster in UT2004 as it does in UT2003, but you would most likely lose some of the kewl effects just like in UT2003, so I'll stick with D3D.

    open GL prob

    I copied and pasted the section and this is what it displays
    UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-02-10_03.01]

    OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
    CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 2396 MHz with 511MB RAM
    Video: No Video

    Can't find file for package 'OpenGLDrv'

    History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

    no need to copy and paste
    delete the ut2004.ini(it will rebuild a new one once you run the game
    exit the game and go into the ini and un ; what you want to use

    ....

    Sorry guys I must seem like an idiot...but I deleted the file and then made the changes and still it didn't work. Open GL works really smooth on my FX driver and the old UT works wicked with it. It gives me that gay ass error everytime.
