View Full Version : Tracking Scores After Disconnect

This is a common problem many games seem to face.

I would like to know if there is an agreed-upon best method for handling the tracking of a player from disconnect to reconnect using the UDK, and if so, what it is.

If there is not, then I'm looking for suggestions. So far I have my own ideas but I would like to hear from someone more experienced.

Well since the server can hold that kind of information you could probably use a hash method (ip? client name? login?) to keep track of the scores.

That's what I'm wondering - what would be the best metric to use when a player reconnects to say, "Were you just here?"

And of course, if there's something like this in the engine already, then I'd want to use that - if anyone knows.
