New beta release.

Major fixes:
- Improved lightning and contrast (doubled ambient skylight and toned down desaturation)
- Improved cover and AI behavior
- General polish

Note that if you have installed the first beta there have been changes made to all the .war files so they all need to be replaced even though the names have remained the same.

Update:

Beta is up. There are still some bugs, and I've cut it back a little from what I had originally intended but I’d like to get this out there.

There are no checkpoints. I’ve spent hours trying to implement them successfully but inevitably they break something.

It seems you really have to build your level from the ground up to take advantage of checkpoints/level streaming, something I did not do as I had not expected it do be a problem.

So unfortunately all I can say is just be careful. At least clicking “load last checkpoint” after a death will restart the map from the beginning.

The screenshots and video are very dark. You could try giving the flames light and putting in some other light sources. The map so far and the ending cinematic looks great. Nice how you made the hammer of dawn go right through his head with laser precision. The sprinkler is very nice as is the crane and explosions. I would only suggest adding some other things like maybe a couple of parked vehicles for cover because those shipping crates are too repetitive.

What is the deal with that mapping101 webpage? I have never heard of it before.

Well, my feeling about this map are more or less like thaur. It is a good job.

Thaur: Im rebuilding ravensearch again with all the adjustments that u wrote. And I have full working checkpoint. At last i did it.

Thanks for the comments guys. About the lighting: Im split. During the day its a little dark but at night or in a dark room its absolutely perfect. If I were to up it then it would appear washed out when played at night.

As for the webpage: its just my portfolio sight. Eventually I would like to have a database of tutorials on the games I work with but I never seem to have the spare time to work on them.

Again, thanks though. I appreciate the time taken and Ill see what I can do. Especially about the cover.

Im downloading the map. I would like to take a look into the kismet and after maybe I could help you to activate it

Hmm.. I couldn't see anything. I'll download this map soon as possible.

Do you mean the screenshots are too dark? It's better ingame, though definitely best played at night or in a dark room.

If you can see a way for it to be done, I'd be happy to listen, though I'm hesitant to spend too much time on it at this point.
