It looks like it helps a lot, and if you don't like it, you can still blindfire your grenades.

Love it, love it, love it. And once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to throw them so quickly you'll barely notice the arc.

I think it looks cool

I agree, it is cool to see. As was said above you will eventually not even need it.

Yup, I think it is an awesome feature. Makes it easier to relate to the game in a real life sense of feeling. I hate on Halo 2/Halo: CE, how you just throw the grenade, this feature really made me excited about Gears of War.

I think it is a great idea and makes a welcome to change in the way grenades are used but I have to agree with Critical Timing that we should have the option to turn off the arc once we get the hang of it.

Good shout m8, we all love options. lol

Ninja Yoda

Cheers for that. must admit though looking forward to planting the odd grenade on a player in death match and laugh as they go BOOM!!! lol

Once I get the hang of the game Im going to practice blind firing the grenades. It looks cooler and its more effective since you dont have to stick you whole body out throw them.

SPARTAN 2002

already a great tactic in cod2, spawn then let the grenades go. From the footage i've seen, it looks a lot slower to throw a grenade, a bit more tactical shall we say.

Ninja Yoda
10-10-2006, 03:16 PM
I agree looking at the footage I've seen it is not just the accuracy but the timing as well, which I must admit I like because the luck element is reduced and replaced by true skill.

on the new vid, at gamevideos.com for cliffyB interview, he said you can let go or press a button or something to turn of the arc

That's what I'm thinking. I honestly think it's a pretty cool feature. It looks like it will help you out in your grenade lobbing, but yeah, once your GOSU at this game, you won't even notice.

I like it a lot. It's a very useful feature to measure your distance in nades. +rep for Cliffy.

Grernade arc will help those of us who are unskilled at throwing greneades throw them better . I like it .

( I on more than one occassion have " Stickied " a teamate in Bungies FPS ) See I didn't use the name .

I'm going to use "the force" and not use the guide. A Jedi uses not the guide.

you guys do know that you can toggle the arc....

LT.Gordo
10-10-2006, 11:49 PM
that arc is pretty mad, but cliffy said that when you get use to throwing them you will be able to do it blindfire, which is a lot quicker in the battlefield.

Crimson Engage
10-11-2006, 12:17 AM
will other players be able to see your arc? Or is it only the person who is throwing the grenade that can see it? I fear that if the other team can see where your aiming the bolo they will run before you can even through it.

X Slingshot X
10-11-2006, 12:33 AM
No they cannot see your arc that I am aware of . That would be really bad by the way ..... make nades useless .

Breatheright
10-11-2006, 12:46 AM
yea i think the arc is great, adds to the whole next gen feel. And i doubt other players will see the arc

LT.Gordo
10-11-2006, 12:54 AM
Yeah im positive that they cant see your arc, that would be pretty bad if they could because they could avoid that spot making your nades useless!

10-11-2006, 01:22 AM
it makes the game more tactical and was good inclusion

They can't see it. in the multi vids you could not see your team mates arcs.

Good job only the grenade thrower can see the arc - all the arcs flying all over the place, that would be crazy lol.

The drawback to the arc is the fact that your opponent can see you winding up. This gives him an oppurtunity to pop you in the head. Its the price you pay for increased accuracy. Ideally when you do start to become Godlike you'll be able toss grenades with no arc and have them land right in the lap of your oppponent all without leaving cover. Thats the level I want to reach.

x2NYCEx
10-11-2006, 01:57 PM
I love the arc and the fact that you can toss them without it too. Makes grenades much more useful and hopefully they wont be tossed any and everywhere like another popular game.

Critical Timing
10-12-2006, 05:48 AM
it kinda remids me of old snooker games with wer the ball may go.

So the wind up is forced when using the ark? the ark is activated with the LT?

So you Cant just bang on LT (im guessing) hit RT and lob it real quick, if thats the case gonn have to get use to blind throwing quick time.

Just wondering how long this wind up period is....hmmm
