Playing at 85hz with a very nice framerate, normal settings.

Then again I only play TDM :p

1024x768, since acquiring a new graphics card a coupla months back. Not too hard to adjust from 800x600, though I still find myself tracking a bit too far from time to time.

It works like this.

Open calculator and divide 640 by 480. Remember the answer and then divide 800 by 600, 1024 by 768, 1152 by 864, 1280 by 960, 1600 by 1200.

Now divide 1280 by 1024. ;)

Standard monitors have an aspect ratio of 1.33. That means if you use 1280x1024 on a standard monitor everything is squashed. Squares will appear rectangular. Circles will appear eliptical. It's not drastically different. But there's no reason to mess up your image for the sake of it.

1280x960 at 32 bit, although i would probably get better performance at 1024x768 @ 16 bit color.

You either

a) have a non-standard screen
b) you didn't draw a square
c) you couldn't tell the difference

I have a 9800xt that runs smoothly @ 1600 x 1200. With a 85hz refresh rate on a 21" Trinitron. I run all my settings at normal. I haven't tried max setting because I don't see the use. Everything is fine looking as is.

why 1280x960 and not 1280x1024? 1280x960 is 4:3.
So is 1600x1200,1152x864,1024x768, 800x600 err you get my point. :p

Depends.

When I'm playing in windowed mode, which I prefer to, its at 800x600. When I'm at full screen 1024x768. And when I gotta take high quality screenshots I crank up to 1280x1024.

hmm, my monitor runs everything normal looking at
640
800
1024
1280*1024

but not at 1280*960

don't ask me why, but its how some monitors are, where 1280*1024 is "normal" even though the ration isn't technically right

I use the custom resolution of 1920x1080. This is because I have a 24 inch widescreen monitor. I had to go into the config file and manually enter that resolution to get it, but it works fine. Also, I play with my FoV set to 120, which allows me to actually take advantage of the 16:9 aspect ration.

legacy-breadbaker

1280x800. and yes, it's a 16:10 crt so aspect ratio is correct.
