I have similiar problems! My NAT type used to be Moderate but now it has turned to be Open! Now I can get host and it is not fun.

You do this by seeting your IP address manually and going into your router settings and forwarding the ports to the IP address assigned to you XBOX.

Restart your router will work too, just try.

Wait, I thought Moderate was bad and Open was the desired NAT-setting? :/

Go onto your router settings, advanced settings and enable DMZ. It worked for me!

There are some simple steps i always use when i get restrictive etc.
    1. Restart router.
    2. Check that all the ports for gears remains open
    - 88
    - 3074
    - 53
    - 80
    3. On you xbox go to network settnings and do the "Test xboxlive connection"

Some basic steps, usually works for me after that

Strict is what you want to avoid. Open and moderate are fine since open can connect to all, and moderate can connect to moderate and open, but not strict. Moderate just means that you can't be selected to host.
