    Default Cannot Load Current Project

I'm currently working on a project for school that I build off of daily. Today when I got home from work I went to load up the level and I got a message saying "BUILT WITH UDK has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I've tried restarting my computer and I've also tried opening up the example levels that shipped with UDK, which successfully open. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I'm really hoping the file isn't corrupt because my assignment is due on Sunday. Thanks to any who can help me.

This could be due to you having an old version of UDK at home, and using a new version of UDK at school, packages are not backwards compatible.

You're thinking of forwards compatible reinrag. UDK packages certainly are backwards compatible, unless the packages contain objects that have become legacy.
Please don't send me private messages asking how to use UDK unless it has to do with my work, everything I can teach is already out there.

I am not support, I am here to learn myself.

I might have been confused then, thanks for pointing this out,

I go to school online. I do everything from home on the same laptop. It just randomly stopped working yesterday. So I don't think it's an issue with different versions, lol. If it helps, I'm using the July 2012 version.

Ok, on which version did you create the map ? also check in the autosave folder, the map should automatically save every 5-10 minutes, you can still have your map,

Everything I've done has been in the same (July) version. I created this level about 2 1/2 weeks ago and have been working on it every chance I get (all on the same version). How do I access this autosave folder? Cause I do have auto save activated and I'd be fine with opening a "not so recent" build of my map, it's better than starting over..

Post the launch.log after you have tried opening your map again and autosave is in udkgame\autosave

    Autosaves:
    InstalationPath\UDKGame\Autosaves

Rename that folder to i.e. Autosaves_BackUp, run editor and load map (look at Date modified and start with older...) one by one from that folder until you can find the one that you're looking for.

In udkgame\logs there are all your logs from every time you use udk open udk and select them map that caused the crash and open the launch.log and copy all the text into a post so we can see what is causing the crash

Sweet. Thanks for all the info guys, when I get home from work in about 3 hours I'll try all of this, if I can load up a recent version I'll just deal with that. I'll inform y'all in a few hours.

Sorry I never got back, I ended up going to my auto saves folder and loading a recent version. From now on I'm going to save as a new file everyday, just in case! Thanks for all te help guys, I suppose a mod can close this now...if that's how things are handled here. I'm a mod from Forgehub so I know how it is. Thanks again.
