    Default Cavemen - Teaser

    Cavemen
    Hi,
I´m currently working on an experimental-explorative-adventure created with the UDK. The game is set mainly in dark and mysterious caves and your goal is to free the light from the cavemen.
I made this teaser first, so... How do you think about it? Do you like the setting, graphics, sounds? Any feedback is appreciated.

i first watched it without sound, it was uninspiring
I then watched it with sound, i found it also uninspiring. The constant dripping was annoying me.

Sorry to be harsh, but you wanted crititsm and i think its best to receive it in its raw nature. Watching lights flight around with a whisp of magical sounds now and then is tiresom. Watching someone run around in a dark whole, looking at rocks (infact big boulders) the whole time is even moreso lifeless.

My suggest would be, go to the Talent area and look to join a team that has a better game concept and looking for members.

Speaking as a person who enjoys cave diving or spelunking out here in the real world. I think you should use less specularity on the rocks. not much shine on the rocks down in caves more darkness. maybe give the player a flashlightlight and nothing else exept the little orbes they gotta gather. make the levels larger or maze like you know. a challenge to get to each orb of light instead of just walking a path.
But i like the concept keep working on it.

Thanks for the feedback (even if it is negative). I understand that you might think of the game as very boring. I wanted the game to give you an experience like Dear Esther (http://dear-esther.com/).
Dear Esther for example is only featuring walking not more. I plan for example to include some horror parts in the game to make it more enjoyable. When you look at Dear Esther you´ll see that the concept works.
