Just finished this book this morning on the train into work and man I totally agree that when it comes to the novels Karen Traviss is hard to beat. She has brought more to the Gears fiction and extended lore than almost anyone else, so it was with great sadness when I learned that she has ended her run with Gears Of War

As mush as people loved to dog her for the campaign in Gears 3 I personally thought that when you tie the novels, the graphic novels and the game together then the story as a whole made a lot more sense. You got a greater understanding of the characters and the whole desperation they all faced in the lead up to the big finale with Queen Myrrah.

I guess for me at least, as much as I am excited for Gears of War Judgment (Can someone explain to me as to why Judgment is spelt wrong???). I am also a little worried in which direction the next Gears game is going especially in terms of the writing (not the gameplay). I mean Tom Bissell and Rob Auten are almost complete unknowns to me their past credits dont have me going Yeeahyaaahhh they are the guys that worked on blah blah man that was friggen awesome, instead I am like WTF.

One more thing a little off topic so I apologise in advance.

I take all this back "Cliffy B my man hahaha you might want to get to know your fiction a little better my friend as I'm sure you have probably heard it a thousand times if not more since Comicon BUT it was Marcus not Dom that stuck the knife in Queen Myrrah." hey I'm big enough to admit when I am wrong....some of you'se might be going huh but given that the knife Marcus uses to kill Queen Myrrah is Doms commando knife then he was right and I need to pay a little more attention to what is being said and not what I think I heard Mr B say.

Judgment isn't spelt wrong, it has a different contextual meaning from judgement.
The spelling 'judgment' is used in a legal context and is synonymous with the decision made by a court following a lawsuit.

It's actually more because Judgment is being created and published by American companies, and in America, we spell it "judgment", as opposed to "judgement". It's the same concept as your second post: you use the word "apologise". In America, we spell it "apologize". We Americans are silly people.

Karen Travis does justice to the Gears universe. Brilliant books. For me, the Slab felt very Alien 3 (Although Anvil Gate is stil the best book).

I tend to agree with you on that.
I've obtained issues 1-19 (back cover of Dirty little secrets part 1 "issue 19" got a tad bit damaged though.) recently.
After that, is odd issue here and there. >_>
    Fav COG: Clayton Carmine.

    Fav Locust: Savage Grenadier.
