[CTL] Leader can die?

Well a few days ago i was playing Capture The Leader. I was caught then rescued by a torque bow kill.

However i was then floating ontop of the stairs barrier line on Blood drive. I stood there since i was just there and i'd somehow broken the map collision boundary. Then after that someone must've shot me then i got killed and the game turned into Guardian.

Anyone else experienced this?

When the leader breaks the 'map collision boundary', as you put it, or glitches out of the map, they are automatically killed. This is done so that leaders cannot manipulate the outcome of a game by making themselves inaccessible for capture.

Lol that was the exact reason why i stood there quite interested but i think they could've atleast done something else.

Yes. People glitching out of the map to manipulate the outcome of a match was a common issue with Gears of War 2. The situation became so bad that people caught on video doing so can be permanently banned from Gears 2 if the video was brought to Epic's attention. So they put in countermeasures to prevent it.

Tell me about it. The first time I played a Guardian match a guy who was the last of his team glitched out of the map on Hail. Took five minutes before somebody got him with the sniper. But I wonder if it only applies to the leader or can other people in other game modes get killed instantly for glitching out of the map?

Anyone gets killed. The only interesting thing about Leaders getting killed is that in CTL, they're supposed to be "invincible," since the goal is the capture/hold them for a set amount of time. Also happens in others mode, including Beast/Horde.

that only killed them off in the beta. its been fixed and now they just down each other
