    Default Saving error please help

    Ok so i had to replace my hard drive and i saved my game files but forgot to save my package and i get the error when i try to save everything:

    "Can't save ..\..\UDKGame\Content\MyStuff\Dead Paradise\DP_NumOne.udk: Graph is linked to object in external map package. Try to find the chain of references to that object (may take some time)?" and i click yes and it cant find anything so how do i fix this error?

    Sounds like you need that package you forgot. If its not there anymore, you need to delete everything that was in it from the map (any references to it).

    How do i delete the referenced stuff from the map when i dont have any of it??

    Go to the Scene tab in the content browser and find everything that was referenced in the package and delete it.

    None of the stuff thats missing is referenced in the scene tab, its just all the stuff thats currently in the map.

    Please help this is a commercial project i am working on with other people and i need to fix it. Is there any way to do it? Also i am making a different map and i cant save that either, i dont get it. it says it cant save map files via browser, then i save everything from the toolbar but it doesnt save my models and i have to start over, what the hell. and i cant drag my model into my scene eitell is going on, i never had this problem with the last versiher, what the hell i never had this problem with the last version of udk.

    It sounds like you may have saved models into the actual map package. (the package with the same name as your level that store lightmaps). You need to have a separate package for models or else you'll get a lot of errors.

    Yeah i believe i did do that, i cant remember but most likely i did. So is there a fix for this?

    If there's still any models, textures, or materials in that package right click them in the content browser and choose the option to move them and put them in a separate package from the level. If not, you'll just have to reimport them into a new package. Other than that it sounds like forgetting to copy that package from your old hard drive is just a mistake that you have to live with and remake everything that's giving you an error.

    ok but what about my new map i made, its just a test map that i made yesterday and it wont let me save my model or add it to the world, it isnt missing anything and its not the same name as the map.

    @Chay Hawk: if you have missing stuff (resource...) in your map, then first of all don't try to save it, because all that missing stuff will be saved as None. Open editor, load your map and close editor. Now go to Launch.log - all missing stuff will be listed with the name, type and name of package. Here is the hard part because you need to recreate (by exact name, type and name of package) all that missing stuff...
