Anyway, I think it has to be related with sparing Torren or getting a rare infinitely-upgradeable gem.
Infinity Blade II character stats:
NG^45 | Level 2020 | Health: 30 000 | Attack: 11705 | Shield: 100 | Magic: 1 | GK level: 4450
you both are missing Nuclear Fusion. Just forge a rare attack gem, i.e., 3 +400 square gem of the the same element to get a +500 gem. After that you can go for the spectrum or darkfire gem (see mammoth's thread). No achievement for that one though although there should be one.
