Medals or No?

Personally, I think GoW 3 multiplayer focused too much on medals. People focused on what they needed rather then fun and helping their team. For example, public idle boosters. I personally would not like medals in GoW J.

I think I'd want them, as long as they are reasonable. Not asking us to play 3000 games of each gamemode, with 2500 of those games having no rounds lost...

Not if they are like Gears of War 3's. The Medals promoted boosting in ways, and made for not difficult, but time consuming achievements.

Yeah thanks for the support but come on i had to play game types i hated to unlock Chairman Prescott

. So if they do put medals, just don't overwhelm us, 3k games of each mode is alot.

Agreed. A lot of the Gears 3 medals are ridiculous.

Space Marine had just a few 'medals', but they were reasonable and made sense. A medal for kills, matches played, matches won etc. Those medals are fun. Unless they enable them in private again and give them ridiculous requirements.
I'm going to say No but I have a feeling that medals will probably be in Judgment.

Keep medals, tweak some of them. The difference in attainability is insane in GOW3.

why would we wanna take away an option for people? why does it concern you if other players are focused on the medals? you don't have to be focused on the medals if you don't wanna be, but don't disable other players from focusing on medals if thats what they are into........

The issue is, that they've made it tricky to boost but impossible to get 'legit'. They can't give it a reasonable number (100) as that could be boosted really quickly.

Simple solution; lower medal requirements and make them obtainable online only.

Yes there were problems with them, but for the ones who really tried for them and didn't boost, thats leaving a whole space open because of a few bad apples.

yeah but dont make it to far like at least 2X it like 600 instead of 1000 the arcade medals are usually 2X like number 1 and survivalist but i see your point though

I voted "NO".

Though the Medals idea was not a bad one the implementation of them was very poor IMO.

Just make a fun game Epic/PCF and I will play it until the cows come home, the way Gears 3 was designed as soon as I finished the massive grind and popped the last achievement I put the game away and haven't touched it since, that was 2 months ago.

TBH I still have absolutely no desire to play it ever again, counting that I played Gears 2 for months on end, AFTER I got the last achievement and several times since, that has to say something.

Epic/PCF I implore you not to suck all the fun out of Judgment with medals and a massive grind, get your magic back and make it enjoyable.

I say no, unless there are like 2 medals. Wins, and kills worth at least 100 points. Makes people focus on winning, and not stealing kills. I know this won't happen, but man, it would be awesome.

If the medal requirements were lowered, but made obtainable only in public matches, I would be happy. Exclude the Vengeful medal though b/c I could not get that legit lol.

No. Getting kills with weapons was a pain. Teammates who would steal kills prolonging them.

I loved the fun of the medals. Some of them were awesome to earn. It was pretty cool displaying the onyx headshot medal or onyx Gnasher medal or whatever. But, honestly, playing 3000 matches of ANY game type, let alone ALL OF THEM, was just beyond idiotic. Especially when the lifespan of Gears 3 has been so short. In less than a year they abandonned further DLC in favour of a new game. This is amazing, btw, not a complaint at all, just a criticism of the mentality behind the medal system.

There shouldn't be any medals that are only realistically achievable through boosting. I have much more respect for a member of the old guard medal than for the Seriously 3.0 one. If I saw someone that had that I would instantly know they wasted endless hours grinding away at the game instead of having fun playing it.

Seriously should be a challenge, but not a grind. The first two were on the money.

If the next seriously is 'get 1,000,000 kills' and every single game type is included then THAT will be fun.

Medals and ribbons were meant to be fun, ribbons are fine imo but the medals require way too much and take the fun out of the game, if they return, hopefully they are realistically reachable and only a few rather than 65

It feels like a waste of time playing horde and beast knowing i have all the required medals onyxed, im not alone, many are completionist but i wish they didnt have that

I like the medals. But they shouldn't tie to an achievement, then people won't focus on them quite as much.

And medals and ribbons should be attainable in any mode. Not everyone wants to play versus.

i cant see how people would be so against something that is entirely optional and secondary to the game experience.

this is just another issue that makes absolutely no sense to me.
