Infinitely levelling up your square gems

Forum folks, here is what proph and I found: you can infinitely level up your square and round gems by following this formula:

Round/Square Elemental: Rare square/round gem + non-rare square/round gem + non-rare square/round gem
Square Spectrum Attack: Rare spectrum + rare spectrum + rare spectrum (credits to xzxDevilxzx)

NOTES:
1. For gem 2 and 3, it must be the exact same kind as the rare gem. It may not be capped, but it must be of high value and not just some random cheap gems. The thresholds are as follows: elemental >= 200; attack >= 100; magic >= 100; health >= 40; shield >= 40
2. Each forge levels up a spectrum/rainbow attack by 250/500, elemental attack by 100, round attack by 50, magic and shield by 25, and health by 10.
3. To get a rare gem, forge three non-rare capped gems of the same kind

That's crazy but i'm struggling to get one 200 attack gem or 500 square gem so this won't benefit me

So the +600 is d max so far..which means there is a possibility to forge elemental 500 + elemental 500 +elemental 500 = ???

The Fire 1000 cannot be seen. Is there something wrong?

Round health goes up 10pts with each reforge - as I currently have a +130 Health

EDIT - just tried Shield -- which has the same non-traditional jump as magic -- first step of 3 60s turns it into +75 -- then next step takes the value up 25 -- so +100 then +125

Okay I just got 3 Attack +300s now which I would say is helpful, and my Square Water gem is now +500 and I didn't even have to spend the time finding 2 other capped Water gems!

Doesn't make sense that youd be able to use this on spectrum gems, since there are no capped spectrum gems that aren't rare.

By the way why are you quitting forging? I don't get it

Also, square gems are far from overpowered, and since it seems to me this method would be impossible with spectrum square gems, I don't see the big issue here.

As far as the round gems go, it still takes quite a lot of time to forge these for the regular player, so I don't really see an issue with there being no cap.

Edit: nice find by the way! Chair really changed the gem landscape with these rare gems and you're doing an amazing job of mapping it out!

what if you put in fire +600 + ice 600 + water 600?

i bet you get a spectrum +600. that's why spectrum has no limits either

Or can I forge a fire +500 with any two non capped square fire gems and get a fire +600?

This is a pretty wild leap of logic.

If there's anything we have learned its that rainbow gems and their formulas are very specific. I have to doubt your assumption here until it's proven.

dark +600 + dark 3?? + dark 2?? = dark +700

thanks for the great efforts, mammoth and proph.
i've tried the round gems and found that
ATTACK gem: the increment is 50 as you've mentioned while
MAGIC gem: the increment is only 25

the combination of a rare magic gem +250 and two magic gems +200 gets a new rare magic one +275.

Is there any reason to do ng+ if you can infinitely upgrade your stats in og? Also do you still have to forge 3 capped gems to get a rare gem or can you combine for example +400 fire with any two fire gems to get the +500?

i just attempted to forge the following together and got "RARE SHOCK GEM in slot 1 can not be improved with this combination."

Rare shock gem +500 + shock attack gem +193 + shock attack gem +76

so your current theory of how this works is somehow flawed...

For instance up until now when using a magic ring, there is a certain amount of time that has to pass in order to "refire" the spell. And that time had a cap with +200 magic gem.
So is the rebound time quicker when using stronger magic gems?

I'm not saying this isnt a great find on your part mammoth, and proph, just that the way you're explaining it is confusing me, because I tried doing what you did to get the dark + 700 gem and it didn't work, I used a +600 Dark gem, and a +193 and a +248 and it didn't work

Re-edit to shield build-up - first step of 3 60s took gem up to +75

Then next steps bumped up shield gem to +75 then +100

EDIT: yup 25 pt increments as the shield value is up to +250

Never mind, just found out the answer.
Stronger magic does not affect the rebound time (doesnt go any faster)
However, it does affect the damage.
I had one +200 in holy and as everybody knows it does 12400 damage.
Then with 4x +200, the damage done on a normal titan is 15600.
So for each extra +200 magic is around 1000 (1067 to be exact) damage added.

It appears that the secondary gem values have to be "significant" - meaning that the values can't be too low. Right now, I just tried using a shield value of 25 as my third gem and the forge said nope.

Since I won't have too much spare time in the next 36 hours, I'm counting on the rest of you to help determine what these gem thresholds could be - remember gem forging is never an exact science - so what may work for some may not work for others - good luck!

I guess for the 10-fold increase when you combine them with Solar weapons. Also for the visual effect of square gem.

Yeah the spectrum gems basically always give you an opening against most of what you fight. So once you have that you can level up attack infinitely through the round gem to be even stronger.

Even with that high of a combination, I still find it hard to get a capped gem first try...you'll probably get pretty close if you don't get a capped gem tho, I would do the second one
