SOOOOO I just re-uped

I'm a long time Gears fan, and I just re uped. I've had the game since it first came out and I've been playing it ever since. I had about 2,600,000 exp points AFTER I had already achieved level 100. When I re uped today I lost ALL of my points, and I was like wtf don't my points transfer from when I already achieved level 100????

EPIC if you're truly out there, can you please look into my account and add those points toward my current green level 1?? I don't think this is fair at all and this is my favorite game! please email me back or respond to this thread.

They do not transfer.

if it's your favorite game, just keep playing. A friend of mine already has 6 million points OVER his rank 400.

When you re-up, there is a message that says all of your XP will reset to 0. It proceeds to ask if you are sure if you want to do that.

It's like this for everybody. The Re-up system wasn't in the game to begin with so, to prevent people from reaching lvl 400 on day one, they didn't let points transfer.

On the positive side, as this is your favorite game, you get to rank up even more! Wihoo!

It's no big deal and surprised you only just knew about this. You'll soon shoot up the ranks again. If you;ve been playing it as much as you say you have then you obviously love the game, so what's the issue? Just keep playin'.

This. The point of re up is to grind out and keep playing, otherwise like Spitfire here said, people would max it out in some cases right away defeating the purpose.

Exp points are overrated, once you hit 400 you wish (or at least I do) the little yellow gauge would keep moving.

If you play a lot you should be levelling up pretty fast anyway.

They made it like this so people with millions of XP over wouldnt be able to get level 400 in 1 re up.

As stated, if this is your favorite game you shouldn't feel cheated or upset. The re-up was an after thought and added after the game shipped. Yes, it is a little poorly design however you should just enjoy the game and not worry about rank. Ranks in Gears of War means nothing, except for achievements.

I'm at half a mil myself and counting. It's going to suck losing all that EXP when I go to re-up but I don't mind so much. Leveling is actually pretty easy, plus I really enjoy playing this game. So like a lot of people have said already, you shouldn't feel cheated by this if you enjoy playing.

What's the point of re-upping then? It's just a level. You don't get anything special, so why does it matter?

If you wanted to rank up, you should have re-upped instead of gaining nearly 3,000,000 useless points. Not like it's hard to rank up anyways.
