Vision by Soharix - Programmer (and/or other help) wanted!
Hello! Vision was originally a game being made about 3 years ago in Dark Basic Professional. It was very well received on the Dark Basic forums, however eventually the project got too complex for us to manage at the time. Since then, Soharix has moved on to other things, with our programmer now working in Java. I decided that I wanted Vision to be remade, and finished this time, so, being a 3D modeller, set out to find an engine that supported great-looking graphics without too much setup. UDK seemed perfect. Unfortunately the amount of modifications that I needed to do to go from a multiplayer focussed deathmatch FPS to a story driven 3rd person action game are a little too great for my programming skills, and our programmer has no experience with UDK and is busy with his own projects.
This is why we need to find someone who would be willing to create the scripts necessary for the game. As of the moment, I have created the basic game mode and imported a custom weapon by following tutorials, but it doesn't handle quite how we'd want, and there are several smaller features we'd want to add that I wouldn't know where to start with!
On top of this, there are some aspects of UDK that I simply don't understand well enough, such as menu creation. Basically, even if you're not a programmer, if you have any experience with UDK and are interested in the project, we'd like to hear from you!
Anyway, on with some screenshots (click the thumbnail for full size):
The concept for the first of a few weapons in the game, the Laser Pistol, and its final appearance:
and finally, the full version of the character render in the banner:
In terms of the game itself, it's basically a story driven, third person action/shooting game. The basic plot follows a remote controlled worker robot, Unit 1 at the top secret Project Vision facility somewhere in the USA. After a plasma leak causes an explosion that nearly destroys the whole facility, Unit 1 must embark on a mission to rescue survivors and his operator. But is there more going on there than meets the eye?
I'll be putting together a trailer when I have the engine behaving how I'd like, with a view to possibly crowdfunding future development if necessary. Royalties will be provided if the game ends up being sold, if not you will be paid a flat sum for your work. If you're interested, reply here, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or add me to MSN with the same address. Terms really are very flexible, we are a fairly relaxed team and will be working over the internet (preferably with MSN, as that's how the rest of us communicate).
Bump. Is anyone interested? I've seen a few similar threads pop up since with responses, have I don't something wrong? xD
(Sorry for double posting too, I thought as it had dropped off the first page a bump would be acceptable :P)
well be happy, atleast you are not being bashed and that's the usual thing for newcomers in this forum.
I've sent you an email, Rtyper.
