EASIEST way to defeat Ryth.

Yea sorry I forgot to update that signature from yesterday, Ive now switched back to aegis and Aran, and I'm using Gelder instead because I was tired of seeing a +200 attack stat gem sitting in my inventory. But I'm still using trifecta and ring of man, because I was tired of having to time The Holy Band just right or else I would have to end up using a Health potion after a battle which can get to be pretty expensive. But I just can't seem to get ANY attack gems, just the ones I already have. Also the elemental gems, and I want to beat Ryth because I need to get the prize. And I would really like to see your combo for beating Ryth!

As soon as you get an On Magic Titan Break +1 gem, go back to using your Nobel.
A nice way to forge an attack gem is this: Get 2 shield gems, and 1 health gem. Then put your health gem in the middle and forge. It's relatively reliable at popping out attack gems. (Any other combination of gems that do not have an attack gem in there also work. Just put 2 of the same on either side, although shield-health-shield seems to be the most reliable.)

just beat Ryth the first time using this method just 2 more times and I can forge my first rare Fire gem haha

He doesn't drop a Fire +400 gem after the first OG win. I got ~800,000 gold from my second victory.

And it sucks that I jus had 3 Health 50 gems and sold them because they've been sitting there for weeks

The stronger you put in will result in higher level gems, ALTHOUGH the three gems must be near the same value for it to work.

Haha, I followed this method and killed Ryth. Though it was not a honorable fight, I hid behind the shield all the time but it worked. Vile Shield, all attack gems + 400 Fire dmg with a Hex on Magic restore 125 shield ! and Ryth is no more. Too bad he doesnt have any attacks that can pass through the small vile shield

For the honor, I actually did defeat a level 20,000 the good-old fashioned way.
Ravine, when are you going to use the Black Rose? Titan Break +2 allows for a HELL lot more damage than a Holy band.

I would like to extend my thanks to asianlitarian for posting this thread. It has greatly helped me in beating Ryth with ease, and I didn't even amp up my gear... I just simply forged a poison attack gem high enough to deal a sizable amount of damage to attach to the solar sword and hid behind my Kerrak shield while he hammered away. Though i noticed something... The Ryth i encountered was level 1000 and his health points weren't that high... I'm OG and i have reset myself to rebirth 1 countless of times (therefore beating him at a very low rebirth ) and i'm at Rebirth 25 as of the moment... Just sharing... Thanks again asianlitarian!

Yah, even though Im fairly comfortable fighting with Ryth with dual and heck even with heavy, when I decide to end his life for good, Im still using this guide to kill him. I must thank asianlitarian to help showing us this way hehe

And no, I dont use Blackrose and Holyring. I use Ring of Man for 2 round attack gems, an armor with rare Magic+300 and on Magic Restore 125shield. And most importantly, On combo5 continue combo, the rest round slots for attack gems. Able to kill level 8500 Ryth last night at 540k HP in one minute precisely

I got 2 small keys from him already. First time he dropped the fire square gem, after that money, and 2 small keys since... But to me he is an end boss in the Vault of Tears and I would never skip him to go straight to the information dealer's estate to fight the god king.

It's extremely easy to kill Ryth now, I kill him every time I meet him in one try.
He dropped money every single time I faced him after I got that +400. It ranges from 1.2 mil to 3.7 mil.

i was kind of disappointed how easy it was to kill him on my first try. I had a harder time with some of the trash mobs on the way up to him...

he only drops the fire +400 gem the first time you defeat him. if you want the gem again restart RB1 (in OG) and fight him then (he'll be at level 2500 i think). kind of boring, but that's how i got my rare fire gem for my spectrum gem

the best way to go is to forge a spectrum or darkfire gem, he's always vulnerable to those

Hey thanks for showing us all this method, it does make ryth ridiculously easy. I normally try fighting him with duals for the first two or three times, but unless i'm doing exceptionally good that day i normally end up getting mad and just use this method lol

And for the record, the first time I killed him in OG i did do it the honorable way, he was level 6500 with ~460k health

I did something similar before on a lvl 3500 Ryth. Block and then use a ring with a restore shield gem (although mine was a crappy 58 shield gem). The fight was pretty easy save for the fact that I constantly tried to anticipate his attacks and dodge some (I didn't have enough shield to block all of his attacks until I got magic) and failed. Screw his horizontal attacks! They've caused the death of me far too many times to count!

How do i get to level 3500 or more Ryth? I have been playing for the last 5 rebirths without facing Thane or the God King.

1) is there a pattern i have to follow in order to get to Thane and God King? I keep getting to the top of the tower and facing The Dark Knight.

2) Is there any swords or ways to be able to use both the darkfire and rare spectrum gem at the same time?

1. You must defeat the blood sentinels. These are the archivist, MX-Goliath, and stone demon. Then thane will re appear at the top of the tower.

SAB already answered this, but I felt like I should point out Spectrum and Darkfire are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. The only difference is the way they look, but they both do the same type damage.

This is pretty noob ish but you can get an on magic get 125 shield gem then boost your shield up to 100 than block every attack until you can use the holy again ik its nooby but it works

I did something like this once but I used an "On Combo get 25 Shield" triangle gem instead. Works pretty well since you can use a Titan Break gem or two instead of a spell or an on magic get shield hex gem.

not exactly, like many other people ( I would assume ) know how to do, on a long enough break I would do a 3 combo hit, swipe in the opposite direction I performed on the 3rd swipe a few times hitting the titan in that direction once, and then swipe in the same direction of my 3rd swipe again performing another combo.

Usually i can do this 2 or 3 times, if I ever had an On Combo get 25 Shield, it'd be more than enough for me.

yeah, it's light's version of a Combo Wrap. With Titan Break +4 you can get around 4 or 5 combos in which is 125 shield with just one gem

Definitely, a lot faster than waiting for your magic to recharge, and you survive longer considering all of Ryth's attacks can be blocked.

Just thought I might share this with you guys -- my experience of killing Ryth level 12000 in NG using Light weapon (HARD/risky version).

4395 Attack stat total (no elemental attack boost) and 1335 Shield points total (rainbow defence employed) (though I did perform 2 successful Hyper Slash sessions; 1 of the Hyper Slash was performed after using a Super to counter/avoid a side-barrol roll stepback; the 2nd Hyper Slash was performed after receiving a Parry Break stab session -- luck involved!). No regen-shield gems used and no magic spell used. Had I got hit by Ryth just once it would be one-hit KO for me btw.

Some learning points:

Ryth's exo-pilot stepback - the third hit can take away around 14x shield points but the fourth/last hit take away only 61 shield points!
Counter method: for slow version, coerced-side dodge first two hit, single side dodge for third hit and block/parry last hit. It's a bit risky to dodge again for last hit as Siris dodge a bit slower when he uses Light weapon than when using Dual weapon. IMO when using Light weapon this stepback is Ryth's most fearsome stepback due the number of Shield points the midair barrel roll kick alone can take away from you in high NG.

Flying side-barrol stepback - block his fancy mid-air kicks, side dodge for 2nd hit, parry last hit. Depending on number of shield points left and overall battle progress (Ryth's HP left), use Super to cancel this stepback.

"Elegant" stepback: coerced-side-dodge first two hit, then parry last hit (horizontally or slightly-diagonally left-to-right swipe will do).

By the way this was the second time I pulled off such a risky feat. I would say some luck is needed to pull this off successfully since Hyper Slash helped IMMENSELY.
