Yeah I earned most of my onyx medals. A lot of them were in private, but I still earned them.

I think there should be no medals at all in Judgement... Boosting is boring and I don't want to use weapons I dislike using in the game just to get an achievement.

The private matches exists because not everybody has the ability to play mp online all the time; why should their gaming experience be limited (not be able to earn 3.0) because of what you deem legit?

The way I look at it is if you got a medal legit rather than private boosting, in theory you should develop much more skill. Thats the real reward, the medal is just a bonus.

I'd rather they change the medal requirements, so less people would be inclined to boost. Make stuff that encourages actually working towards it, instead of insane requirements.

this is the better idea. I play Gears a good bit and have maybe 300 matches between TDM and Warzone. all other game types I have almost no progress. making us play 300 matches of a game type is really insane. I have a wife and a job, but in saying that I have completed Gears 1 & 2 and would like to complete 3 also. At currant rate it will not happen without boosting.

Probably only 3% of the gears population got everything by actually EARNING them.
Now when I just got my Onyx Headshot medal by actually earning it, I feel no recognition because practically everyone boosted it!

Now I feel like all my hard earned ribbons, medals, and unlockables are just a waste, including the ratios.

And what fun is a game when most of the players cheated their way through and the actual earners feel like they did crap.

I have right now 18 onyx medals and like 30 more Gold ones very close to Onyx. I really don't care for S3.0, but if I get it before GOWJ, fine; if not I really don't give a s*it.

I don't use the boosting method but I can see why it's very common, most of the medals require a pretty high number which may not be hard but it's time consuming specially if you don't play the specific game types or use specific weapons. I don't wear medals I unlock either because they have no personal value to me since they can all be boosted. I been wearing "Member of the Old Guard" since the game came out because it's the only medal I deserve to wear.

boosting =/= playing a **** ton of non MP game modes

They should be attainable in private, but also in horde, beast, campaign or overrun. Private because not everyone has xbox live, and the rest because not everyone likes to play versus. Does how someone else "earned" them effect you? If you think it does, that's kind of sad. Play the game how you want, and stop worrying about how other people play it. It bothers me when people think that they way they play is the only right way to play.

It's a game, just play it how you find it fun, let others do the same. That's what games are for after all, fun.

i boosted the manipulate campaign objects one to the max. playing the piano on CNC sovereign before "Nash" is eaten by polyps. other than that, have played loads of private with my GF and (not so much) Quick match online
