Each book aside from the Slab has 2 story archs, a main one and a secondary one reflecting on past events. The main story line however, the primary story arch is based on the events happening in the present. So it goes like this...


The Slab, Aspho Fields, Jacintos Remnants, Anvil Gate, Coalitions End

So combining it with the Games it goes like this, concerning the Main story arch.

1. The Slab
2. Gears of War 1
3. Aspho Fields
4. Gears of War 2
5. Jacintos Remnants
6. Anvil Gate
7. Coalitions End
8. Gears of War 3.

The secondary and smaller story arch dealing with Flashbacks puts the books in this order. However the above list, the main story arch, are the actually books place in the timeline.

1. Anvil Gate
2. Aspho Fields
3. Jacintos Remnants
4. Coalitions End
5. The Slab
