About the TITAN Pack

I just bought the game about a week ago and am hooked to it.I wanna download the TITAN Pack for the extra maps in Vehicle CTF and others,but i heard i will have to use steam to start UT3 if i wanna play it with TITAN Pack.So,if i get myself the TITAN Pack , will i really have to start Steam every time i wanna play UT3?I've had many probs with Steam in the past,so this is not a risk i'm willing to take.So can anyone answer me please?Can i start the game from the desktop icon after getting the TITAN Pack?

Thx a lot man.But i've got another question.I have already applied the 2.1 patch.So will it affect the application of TITAN Pack ,as i have first used the 2.1 Patch and then am applying the TITAN Pack?

So i ran the TITAN Patch,but suddenly it stops and says, 'Some installation files are corrupt,please download a fresh copy and apply.' .Now i know what that means but i downloaded the official pack from the official link.So is there any way to apply the TITAN Pack without redownloading?(My internet is very slow.It practically took me about 7 hours to download the TITAN Pack)And yes i tried re applying the 2.1 patch after the probs with the TITAN Pack.So,any help?

Patch 2.1 (or Patch 5) needs to be installed first before installing the Titan Pack.

You would be overwriting files from the patch, with the Titan Pack files...

The order of install is Titan Pack and then Newest Patch.

Err, not really. I suggested that I'm installing the Patch 2.1 first before Titan Pack earlier. Never had problems yet, and you are right (re-install the patch again). My bad.

PS: Install the copy of your UT3 first -> then Patch 2.1 -> then Titan Pack -> then re-install Patch 2.1 and you're on set.

Patch 4 (version 2.0) has to be installed.

When i run the pack it shows a pop up box 'Some installation files are corrupt.Please download a fresh copy and rety the installation.

I first installed the 2.1 patch, which was about 328 MB. Then i download the TITAN Pack from the link wikkid gave me.When i start the TITAN Pack it starts showing the logs and begins installing.In the middle a number of files get errors but it still continues.The error goes as follows ' CRC failed in Patch\UTGame\CookedPC\UT3G\Maps\WAR-ColdHarbor_LOC_INT.upk .It had similar problems with other maps too just replace the map name with some other maps like VCTF Stranded.

I dunno if this is relevant but once while going online i had to download a map 'DM-Psi' (i think) before playing.So does that have any relation.Plz help me guys i really like the VCTF Maps im hooked to Suspense lol.

Some of us haven't found errors for a long time while installing Titan Pack.
There are some downloadable links that the TITAN pack came from GameFront maybe corrupted. Try the DL mirror below at UTzone.de:

I recommend to install UT3 stock, (perferable apply patch 1.3), apply patch 2.0, install Titan pack and then apply patch 2.1.

Actually. It was my idea to put a UTzone.de mirror for you. But for now, have fun playing UT3!
