From personal experience, I've had a tough time consistently finding full games on Gears 3 ever since the DLC was released. One of the keywords during development was 'consolidation', and that's pretty much gone out the window if you ask me. I hope the same doesn't go for Judgment.
I'm a fan of variety. I enjoy the special events playlists, etc. I just think that the community has been split to the point where it takes over 5 minutes of searching to find a ranked game, or a blessing from above to find a full quick match.
In an ideal world, DLC would be free. You could get away with having a wide variety of playlists because you'd know that the vast majority of players would have the required content, and people like me wouldn't have to resort to playing regular TDM/ No DLC playlists. This will never happen, though.
So what's the solution, really? Do we take away certain permanent playlists like the different Alpha varieties, BBTE, Stranded etc, only to have people upset that their favourite playlist has been reduced to a weekly special event, or do we try to make everybody happy and as a result narrow the opportunity to play with an abundance of people?
