It feels like I see this suggestion almost every day on the forum - 'It wud b rlly kewl if we cud make our own gearz'
And to this suggestion, I say, hell no. Why?
I feel that one of the key things that helps set Gears apart from the rest of the shooter market is the use of characters online. You aren't just playing as a nameless shell of a solider, your character has a personality, different phrases, a different voice etc. I know this only really applies to the CoG, but you get the idea.
When I see the suggestion of being able to make your own character, it kind of bugs me. Why are these people so keen to see off the great characters we already have? I feel that the people suggesting this are, more often that not, new to the series, and the characters don't really mean that much to them. It's a bit of a sweeping statement but that's just the impression I get. I think set online characters are a great feature of Gears, and although I don't think Epic would ever introduce a 'create a character' option, I just wanted to explain why this suggestion is a bad one, to me.
Whether you support simple customisation of the characters we already have is personal opinion, but I'm not talking about that now. Peace.![]()
