If it is in MP make the ammo count very very limited say one magazine of 4-6 semi-sniper shots (say it takes three body shots to down, but only two with actives)

According to that WaldoRTK7 guy (his forum name is something similar) who seems to know a lot about GoWJ it will be in standard MP. I don't think it should be however as I like the idea of having one bullet in the Longshot so you take time and don't just 'spray and pray'

It will most likely be in Overrun(scout), Campaign(Garron), Private VS(selectable weapon pick up), and Events(like in Gears 3).

If it's in standard MP, with one-shot-headshots, I can see it causing problems. I haven't heard any confirmation yet though.

True, so we shouldn't get peeved off about stuff we don't know yet. I still doubt it will make it in, bar Overrun and maybe Campaign etc.

This is what I'm worried about happening. When I used to play COD, I remember how people would abuse the semi-auto snipers. Luckily, from what I've seen in Overrun mode, it looks like it does almost no damage if it's not a headshot.

I fear adding the semi-auto longshot to competitive MP will lead to kids wasting the sniper ammo trying to get clips for their montages. That would be a mess

Overrun is competitive mode, according to Quinn. But I think semi-auto will be in regular MP too. We gonna see montage chasers everywhere Reason why it is semi-auto is because Longshot in Gears 3 is least effective power weapon. It was mentioned on Active Reload few months ago.

It could still be annoying if people have like 4 quick chances at a headshot, or however many shots it is in Overrun.

Least effective is a debatable term. I think if somebody doesn't suck with it, it can be one of the best power weapons. Sometimes it lands me 8 kills if the other team keep wanting to stick their heads out. Sometimes it gets me none though, so I see where you're coming from.

Plenty of satisfaction to be had when you land a nice shot as well.

hope not because it will not good for the events in gears 3 that had it in because it made people with no sinper with a sniper have easy kills. i just love the only longshot that we all know that does take skill to do a slick headshot

I could deal with 2 shots per clip, but 4 is absolutely insane for standard MP.
