I've had this idea kicking around in my head and I figured I might at as well post these ideas and see what you Gearheads think about. These are some suggestions for sawed off. This not a hate thread for the sawed off or sawed off users, I just think that these ideas may improve multiplayer. I personally like the Double barrel shotgun not for the game but in real life, when i see the Sawed off I want to use but i don't like it. So i decided to make these suggestions to be more likable. If you do not like these ideas, please be respectful and say why you don't like these ideas. Rude and disrespectful comments will be ignored.
I think the Sawed off should have 2 shots. This wouldn't promote the "hit and run" aspect of the sawed off as much. When people used the sawed off they would camp and wait until some guy was busy and then run up and blast em hoping to get a kill then run away. With the nerf its even harder to do that making the sawed off pretty much a luck-based weapon. With 2 shots the player can shoot the person and if doesn't kill him the second would increase the chances of the kill. Of course with 2 shots the sawed off spread and range would have to be adjusted to balance the weapon.
SPREAD AND RANGE
The spread of the sawed off should be wider. But instead of having the entire spread a big gib range, the spread damage should be more in front of the player with the sides of the spread less damage than the middle of the spread. I hear players say the sawed off takes no skill to use, that partly true with aiming. With my suggestion I think it would take more skill to use but still be friendly to new players. Instead of players running up and shooting then getting the kill without even really aiming, this suggestion will require sawed off users to aim a little more with blind fire than just giving them the kill. With the lesser damage on the sides of the spread players could still hurt other players but not reward the player with a kill, and if it has two shots it could give the player a chance to "try again."
side note: this is an idea but i think the sawed off would be to overpowered if this happened. have the spread narrow a melee range then spread wide after melee. i don't really like this idea but could make challenging to use the sawed off but also make Gnasher harder to use
The AR should be little quicker but still slower then the Gnasher. The painful long reload promotes the "hit and run" tactic of the sawed off, with a quicker reload sawed off users will stay around longer in shotgun battles. Also I think the reload should be set up more like the hammerburst( with the bar at the end) but have the regular reload bar a little longer to help new players with the active reload feature.
I think that should hold more ammo and start with more ammo. It is hard to find ammo for the sawed off, with ammo increase players could enjoy CQC longer. The sawed off should start with 6 shells and hold max 10-12.
I think with these changes the sawed off and the Multiplayer as whole will be more enjoyable. Like i said these are just ideas and if you don't think these ideas are good please explain why in a nice manner. If you like all suggestions vote all options in tne poll.
