Default Creating a "Realistic" Lens effects for Sniper Scopes

Decided to create a quick tutorial on how to get RTT's as a Lens for Sniper Scope, to pass the time. Hope it helps anyone wanting to do it. Good Luck!

    Final Result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZPD6...1&feature=plcp

    Required File : DOWNLOAD HERE

    Link to Tutorial: HERE

If you have any questions then please ask here.

    BUGS Include:

    • FPS Mesh appears in the RTT Lens Not sure how to fix yet
    • The SceneRenderTarget 2D is not destroyed or detached when the Weapon is swicthed

This is intended to be an addition to your weapons not a guide to create a fully functional weapon. So the requirements REQUIRE you have a working functional weapon with a scope. I assume you know how to UV and work with Unreal Packages.

You could set the NearPlane of the SceneCapture2DComponent far enough out to exclude the barrel, however that would lead to problems when very close to objects and walls.

I assume you're using a 'true first person setup'? Tbh I'm not sure why the barrel would come into view at all if the component is properly attached to the weapon socket... the barrel should remain relative to the component. Hmm.

Yeah i'm not sure, i'm not using True FPS. Just a normal FPS set up. I originally tried your first suggestion and it fixed the issue but getting too close clipped through objects.
