Thread: Texture Issues.

  1. #1

    Default Texture Issues.

My first concern is the importing of textures.
    I've tried several different variations.
    png, targa, raw,
All of my textures are using the power of 2.
Yet every single one of my imports fail. WHY?

Second concern is when editing my terrain.
I use the tree, just like the tut shows, yet it does not (remove top layer to expose bottom layer)
    Why is this happening?

"FYI" I followed the IntroToTerrain tut, and still no luck.

Are you using RGBA format for the targa files and saving them from photoshop as 24 bit or 32 bit?

    I tried 16/24/32 bit.
    Standard tga files.
    Nothing uploads. Getting very annoying.

It shouldn't be this difficult. Not in comparison to unity/hero/cry3

Is the targa RGBA format though? 16 bit Targa's do not work. What is your exact process that you're trying? It definitely isn't this difficult to import textures so either your installation is corrupted or you're just doing something wrong in your process.

    You need to use 8bit/RGB(a)
Please don't send me private messages asking how to use UDK unless it has to do with my work, everything I can teach is already out there.

I am not support, I am here to learn myself.

Easiest thing to do is to upload your texture somewhere for others to have a look at it.

Try to increase the lightmap resolution. That doesn't look like a texture problem, looks more like a shadow issue.

    Thanks JessieG

    It was indeed the lighting.
    I used the wrong kind.
