Default So, about the whole "be prepared to die" thing...

Sorry if its been covered, I've been trying to avoid this subforum, but I have to know... Do you think the whole "be prepared to die a lot" philosophy is going to apply to multiplayer (meaning lower health or more weapon damage)? I personally hate dying, although I've just about perfected it. I'm of the opinion that a slight health boost would solve the "x gun is OP" complaint in Gears 3.

Sorry, was referring to cliffy b's quote about how hard this game would be (he was talking about the campaign I think)

Rod Fergusson also said in the gameinformer interview that "increased lethality" (or something like that) would be a feature of the game, which kind of sounds like they're buffing the rifles again.

Oh yeah. I remember hearing something about this. i think they will take it further than simply "buffing" a rifle.

If it's like Gears 1, you will most likely die at least once. Maybe 14 times.

Pretty sure they're talking about Campaign guys...

I think you have misinterpreted it as referring to Multiplayer, but I'm positive he was on about the Locust on Campaign.

Gosh just because he's a man who likes to take care of his appearance doesn't mean he's a queen.

I read the interview a while back and he mentioned that todays games are too easy. If he's planning on going back to GOW roughness *gulp and yay!!!

In GOW1 on insane before the end of 'Prologue' I died probably 6-7 times on my first run. Anybody who says otherwise is lying. I won't even mention killing RAAM, solo on Insane without glitch.

You can glitch the RAAM fight? I wish I would of known that!! The worst part of GOW1 insane is the wretches. Lambent wretches in the mine carts...wretches on the ceiling in the house of soveriegns...wretches in the factory....and don't get me started on the lambent wretches on the way to getting to the mine carts. I almost threw my xbox into a busy freeway.

Oh yeah, Lambent wretches in mine carts - I remember playing & dying on this part so many times that it isn't even funny today. I won't even mention Torque Bow wielding Theron's on Imulsion Plant - I still get cold sweat & goosebumps when I remember that part.

Yeah if you run right after the animation towards the block at the end of your train cart, every six or seven run he tends to stuck there, like 5 meters in front of you, then you hit him with everything you have. Of course I've found for that glitch by accident searching on YT sometime before release of GOW3.

The "expect to die" quote was about Campaign. Campaign is going to be a hell of a struggle on anything other than Casual.

Im running through GoW1 on Hardcore for funz, and the areas in Act 3 where loads of Wretches come at you are terrifying, and insanely difficult still.

They were 100% talking about the campaign. Wasn't it that 'Games are too easy now and it p***es me off, if you play on anything but Casual on Judgment, you're going to die' or something along those exact lines.

Also, Lambent Wretches + Minecarts + Insane on GoW1 is the hardest thing i've ever had to do on a game. So. Much. Raging.

Having played a lot of Beast i'm totally used to death.

Also, today people feel special for getting enough xp to reach the maximum level which requires nothing more than enough time to play the game....nothing more. Not exactly what i would call a challenge, more of a chore and it's present in far too many games.....that and find 25 of these and 100 of those. Turn the page man, move forward.....make games hard again.

Like ppl bragging about getting seriously 3.0, when theyve been boosting and leaving their comp run while they re in work. Totally pointless. If I get the achievement legitamately after 2 or 3 years of play then I'll be satisfied

Which is disappointing, when you consider how powerful the rifles were in Gears 3.

The end of Act II with the kyrll. I remembered almost every spot the kryll appeared at before I finally beat it. Act III carts and the time when you split up. And of course, Raam. Horrible, horrible, memories.

LOL if that is hardest thing you've done in a game whoo! i dont even want continue talk about this because you would be really mad to me. They are just ripping off DKS marketing "prepare do die" i bet this game is easy up to max normal challenge in gaming.
