Default Shadow not visible in editor

    Ran into another prob here...

Made a small corridor with a udk default static mesh and added a spotlight.

this is how it looks with the spotlight selected

    when i deselect the spotlight,

I want to know why that shadow is not being shown in my editor..

Also after building the lighting, why does the shadow not become crisper instead it turns out like this...

Your lightmap resolutions are too low--for BSP turn the number down, for static meshes turn the number up (but keep it using multiples of 2, so start with 32, then 64, 128 etc.)

but why is it that the shadows are not showing in the editor?? plus when i move the static mesh the shadow remains in its place (that is after light build)..

The resolution is so low that it's blurry and you can't see it.
